I visit Rotorua often to shop and attend the kuirau market...the Redwoods have always been a favourite place to bring my horse to ride but haven't done so for quite some time now and the concerts and festivals are always a crowd pleaser...

Rotorua has lots to do. We did the downhill luge, geothermal parks, mud spa pools, Mauri cultural evening, redwood forest. The centre isn't huge but eat street has some good options. It's an hour from Hobbiton too.

Was a great city, while we were there we did Hells Gate, Redwood Altitude, Kiwi Hatchery, and took a long day and did Waitomo Caves. Plus walked the boardwalk, and had some good food in the downtown area.

Good
Beautiful little town that is a good base for outdoor activity (biking, hiking...) and cultural trips (Maori village excursions). Food and city entertainment options are a little limited within the city centre so a car would be advised.
"Great location next to little village and geothermal amazing breakfasts and dinner buffet and amazing little store. Staff was amazing we would recommend hands down.
The room was great but the only flaw was the bathroom appliances were rusted "
