" What a great stay. We visit Charleston often as we are only a few hours away. I’ve been to the rooftop bar often but never stayed at the hotel. The service was fantastic. Champagne at arrival. Took our bags to our room while we parked hot cocoa after our walk and pastries delivered to our room the next morning. Rooms were nicely done and the art was cool and it was festive for the holiday. The only thing they could add was a mini fridge but the manager graciously put our leftovers in the fridge. Location is perfect 2 blocks to city market. Would stay again !"
"The staff were very accommodating and the room was lovely. HOWEVER, as in so many hotels, the lighting is more decorative than functional. The closets are the size of a postage stamp and the bathroom is barely big enough to turn around in. It is an old, historic hotel, and it’s possible that city codes prevent modernization. There are many other hotels in that location where you would probably get more bang for your buck. "
