Clean and quiet, good for a couple night stay.

This hotel is situated next to the famous Nijo Castle, with several bus stops and subway station just a quick stroll away. Additionally, the nearby ramen restaurant offers a deliciously chewy ramen that is definitely worth sampling.

Lovely hotel with a whole manga library on the lobby that you can borrow and take to your room! Japanese style breakfast which is delicious. Friendly staff and nice clean rooms. Highly recommend for solo travellers.

Hotel is good, we had a nice stay. Overall mostly clean, I did see some dirty spots on the wall. The beds are very firm (typical of Japan/Asia). Great price and decent location. Would stay again.

Very nice boutique hotel with excellent Japanese hotel. Interesting library of comics. Located on main road and near bus and metro. Close to Nijo jo castle.

Conveniently located Kyoto Hotel

Convenient hotel, not too far from the station and walkable to sites with bus and subway lines close by. Very small rooms, not the most comfortable for long trips with large suitcases. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast is Japanese breakfast which is great to experience but again, for longes stays, may get redundant.
Deanna, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

I had a great stay. It was so nice to have a small bathtub. The room/bed was small but expected in Japan and I didn't fell like I needed anymore space. It was quiet and the staff were super helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here. I stayed as a solo female and felt super safe. The rooftop garden is also nice.

Love that there are even a few English comic options to borrow. Rooms designed for reading and a small free drink bar. The beds are firm. I liked it but may not be for everyone.

The bathroom though small is probably made up of several smooth surface prefabricated units and assembled. The surface is easy to clean and the bathroom was very clean. The shower and drainage are also very good. Bus transportation very convenient to downtown and Gion district.

I really appreciate the detailed part of how they manage their rooms. From my personal perspective, I think the hallway carpet might have a bit of an unpleasant smell because it’s probably old or hasn’t been cleaned thoroughly. On the other hand, my room is spotless, especially in terms of cleanliness.

4.5/5 Excellent customer service. The staff speaks English and they offer luggage transfer services for a very reasonable price. The room is small, but it met my need. The bed is hard, but it’s actually very good for the back (better for my back than my super soft bed at home). The bathroom is compact, but the tub is actually quite large. The terrace is cute. The breakfast is Japanese style, they also have coffee and tea. The manga selection for non Japanese speakers isn’t great. The location is pretty convenient, there’s a family mart and a 7-11 just a few steps away. And a few central bus lines. Close to nijo castle and few minute bus ride from Gion. I would stay again. If the bed were soften and the room a little larger, I'd give it 5 stars.
Yomidalys, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

I stayed here for 21 days and really enjoyed my stay. The beds are a top hard for my taste, but it's not an actual complaint, just something to keep in mind if you only can sleep in soft beds. While staying I made good use of their Manga library. I mostly read them in Japanese, but I saw they did have a small selection in English as well. The location was great but not the best. I had a lot of places to go that required me to first go to Kyoto station, which was easiest to do by bus, but could also be done by subway (with one change), which made for bit of annoyance. However, there was also a lot to see around the hotel within walking distance, and the shopping options including cafés and eating places were great (from the ones I tried). The staff is very nice and helpful. I got by with a mix of Japanese and English without any trouble. The room was very small, but it had everything necessary and I was very happy about the small fridge there as well. The bathtub was my highlight, as I am a very tall person (185 cm/6,? Inches) and rarely can I fit in the normal bathtubs I've seen around on hotels, but I COULD FIT!!! And I didn't had to become a human pretzel to be able to do so, it was super nice. Overall I really enjoyed my stay, and the only negative thing really is the hard bed that started hurting my back a bit the last week, but if I had just stayed for a week or two it wouldn't have become a problem for me. I recommend for the price, especially for shorter stays.

Room not vety clean, but rhe blackout blinds helped us to sleep. Bathroom with main tap for shower and sinc in one unit does not help. Also super small.
Adriane Janine, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

The hotel and staff were really good. The only disappointment for me was the quality of the bed/Mattress. I didn’t sleep well and my back was painful.
Deborah, 6-night trip

8/10 Very good

Overall was generally clean, though a couple stains on the carpet and bench. Not a bad location, but not amazing. Good food nearby. Was on the 6 floor and when they cleaned the rooms, the hallways smelled wet and like mildew with all the sheets piled in the hall. The blinds did nothing to keep out the light, so I needed to wear a sleep mask. I would stay again but I’d probably look at other options first.
