8/10 Very good

Smaller hostel style accommodations. Limited parking on-site and ended up having to park down the street overnight.

10/10 Exceptional

Just a 10 minute walk to the buzzing downtown. The guesthouse was clean and tidy and though we weren’t in Akureyri long, we appreciated staying In a walkable location with coffee in the morning.

8/10 Very good

Clean, comfortable stay. The only complaint was the lack of blackout curtains.
Chase, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The guesthouse is located quite near the centre, our room was not so large but confortable. The bathroom wide and clean. Good stay

Dark, dingy and run down

I usually don't leave bad reviews but I feel this property misleads customers in the extreme. The place is dark, dingy and run down. The photos are clearly taken with a very wide angle lens and the white balance is whacked up to present a clean, bright interior. This was (by far) the most disappointing accommodation we stayed at during an otherwise fantastic 7 night trip around the loop road. Look elsewhere!!

2/10 Poor

I really can’t recommend this place. The house was in very poor condition – there was mold on the walls, and it smelled overwhelmingly of detergent and perfume. The air inside was so heavy that I could hardly breathe, and I didn’t sleep at all during the night. My eyes were red and itchy the entire time. The room was tiny, with absolutely nowhere to put clothes – no hooks, no shelves, nothing. It felt very uncomfortable and impractical. The location itself is good, but unfortunately that’s the only positive thing I can say. The overall condition of the house was just really bad :(

8/10 Very good

It was quite nice. However we were in the basement rooms, which is a bit uncomfortable. The biggest problem is that there were no shadow curtains, so the sun came into the room in the morning.

Washroom room 201 corner of bath broken it hurt, bed painful and no parking if you arrive late so street parking. Check in 5 pm check out 10 am. Someone was cooking in the basement the had rice and non veg smell. Not worth

Okayish, the bed linen was synthetic. No paper towels etc in shared kitchen. Plates and cutlery was worn out at the end of their life. 2 tea towels for the whole kitchen which propbably was shared by 5 or more rooms.

2/10 Poor

What is unique about this property is the absence of hot water. Space is pretty limited in a kitchen, so you have to wait some time before having dinner.

6/10 Good

Acco guesthouse is a great walkable distance from a handful of dining options and shopping. The room we stayed in was very spacious and the beds were large and comfortable. The bathroom however, was quite tight. The shower ledge takes up a lot of room even though the shower is very small. The ledge also had a decent size chunk out of it which was a big hazard when we had just woken up in the morning and weren’t used to our surroundings.

2/10 Poor

Avevamo prenotato una camera con bagno privato, abbiamo trovato un post-it attaccato sulla porta del nostro bagno con scritto: “inagibile per ristrutturazione, ci scusiamo. Usare bagno in comune.” Non ci sono state inviate le istruzioni con i codici per entrare, nessuno presente in struttura all’orario indicato per il check-in. Non raccomandato in toto. Chiesto rimborso totale e cambiato alloggio.

I did not expect this to be a “hostel” type of place. We had to share bathrooms and it was very much unpleasant. Kind of like living in college all over again lol..

good location near the church. Liked the clean room, but parking is nighmare. Only 4 are available for 10 rooms. street parking is only options for the weekdays with parking fee. Weekend is fine. We had a shower issue but property manager responses were bit annoying.

Schimmel an den Fenstern. Nasse Handtücher. Sehr laut auch weit von der Küche. Ziemliche eklige Unterkunft.

2/10 Poor

DO NOT STAY HERE! The property is unclean and poorly kept. When I got out of the car, the first thing I noticed was a foul odor emanating from the house bins, which had remained full since my arrival till I departed two days later. There were flies both inside and outside the house. The scent in the house is awful. A combination of unclean and strong culinary odors. The room was filthy, and I have pictures to prove it. The advantage is that the guest house is conveniently located.
ANGELA, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Overall it was a good, cheap stay for a night. It's not very far from all the restaurants and bars, but it is also at the top of a fairly large hill. The facilities were nice enough. Though the tv in my room was flickering. I'd recommend if you just need a place to stay for a night or two.

10/10 Exceptional

Water pressure in the shower was amazing and the heated towel rack was great for drying wet clothes.

Would not stay again

The steps were very slippery and one of the metal edges was loose. My friend fell down the steps and skinned up her back. They don’t want you to wear your shoes inside, so that makes a dangerous condition. The inside of the room left something to be desired. We found a dirty sock under the bed, the blinds was just a single roller shade no curtains, and it didn’t come all the way down to the bottom due to the window hook. The other guests were not friendly, but I don’t blame the hotel for that.

We stayed in 5 hotels in our loop around Iceland. This was by far our worst stay. No parking(fewer spaces than there are rooms) Greeted by a huge pile of garbage at the front steps. Check in was a hassle. Lovely city though. This place is corporate owned and we will avoid them now always.
Michael, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Room was small but adequate. Bathroom had multiple broken tiles in the shower, a tiny sink and minimal water pressure. Towels were very thin. Beds were comfortable.
