Perfect stay, also for visiting Cambridge

Nice place to stay for a couple of days. Friendly hosts. The food is said to be very good, but we didt get the change to experience it ourselves. We took the guided bus to Cambridge, leaving the car at the nearby P+R. In the 2nd- front- room the traffic noise was quite loud although there were not that many cars passing at night.

The whole checkin experience was excellent from the owners of this great pub/restaurant/guesthouse despite them not having a clue that i was staying due to Expedia not informing them of my arrival. However they worked around this, and made me feel welcome and even upgraded me to a suite, I did have to pay direct, but assured a refund if the Expedia payment is also taken

A very pleasant stay

Upon an early arrive I was politely greeted at the bar, and told that they would check to see if my room was ready, which it was. I was booked in for one night, on a friday, in mid July +28°C. I had the front room by the main road and had to keep the windows open and the two supplied fans switch on all night, which others may find noisy but I slept pretty well. The place was very clean but a bit cramped for a twin room with an en-suite shower room with very good water pressure. I ate in the restaurant and the food was very good. The beer garden is very stylish and a huge suntrap, Shades are provided.

The bedrooms are very comfortable. The bed very nice. A shelf in the bathroom would be useful. I would prefer different towels as I expressed while I was there. The breakfast room is charming and very nice to use. We also had a nice cooked breakfast. The cooking was very good first night not so good subsequent nights. Because I can't eat certain things my choice is limited. An expanded menu of tried and tested dishes might be better instead of daily specials that are not thought through. The staff were lovely and very accommodating.

Reasonable priced great stay near Cambridge

Great little place to stay, with a shared kitchen including a double doored balcony. Very reasonable price per night too. The breakfast is "self service continental", using the food that is in the kitchen. There is no Aircon, and it was the hottest day of the year so far. There are 3 rooms in total. I was in the front one near to the road. There was quite a lot of road noise when I arrived, especially with the windows open, but it was not anywhere as noisy as I was expecting at night. The pub downstairs is a gastro pub, with a decent if slightly eccentric (imho) menu, and a decent selection of drinks.

Cozy. Beds narrow and felt Old and in need of replacement. Noise from Road in the room we were in. Expect noise from bar downstairs untill it close (not late in our case). Very cozy communal kitchen for breakfast especially if you are the only ones staying.

Great hotel.

Great hotel above the pub. Food is excellent. Rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is self service continental in a comunal kitchen. Staff are really helpful.

Willingham stay

I picked the Porterhouse due to its location for work the next day. Check in was fine and to have a little kitchen on hand was a lovely touch and help yourself to what you might like if you wanted to use it (I only used the kettle to make a drink) The wifi was not working at all during my stay which was really annoying as I needed it for work and the french doors in the kitchen kept blowing open and the heating would not come on so it was cold. It is right on the side of the road by traffic lights so for me personally the road noise was too much and the lack of internet and being cold meant I didn't enjoy my stay there as much as I could have. The place is clean, the kitchen great and there is pub food which I didn't try, and if you are used to road noise it could be great for others, just not right for me I'm afraid.

Porterhouse Stay

All the staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Chloe L, and Rosie in the Tee Pee restaurant. We found the room spotless and comfortable, and enjoyed the continental breakfast set-up.

I recommended this B&B

Great room, good food. I woke up a bit early (06.30) due to traffic passing the B&B but I will definitely return !

6/10 Good

Handy place for Cambridge.

A nice pub/restaurant with on site parking. Helpful staff once we got checked in. The room was clean and well kitted out. I loved the self prepare breakfast arrangement. There was a kitchen with m/wave, toaster kettle, fridge etcetera. Just the job for a breakfast where I could choose when and where I wanted my breakfast. A tiny bit disappointed that my call regarding room availability time was not returned but a small blip in a great stay.

Fist time stay.

Wow what a lovely place to stay, I was a little concerned when I first arrived to check in as the bar area had a few rowdy patrons, however they left relatively early and there was no noise following this. The room was nice, well decorated and comfy bed, would have liked thicker pillows, however this did not affect my sleep. The Kitchen was always stocked with nice breakfast essentials and allowed an away time from the bedroom. Overall a very nice place to stay.

6/10 Good

Everything was excellent apart from the fact there was no heating on at all and in the night it went below zero. I mentioned this to the staff and they said they would change it. I could not watch TV or sit for breakfast it was too cold and miserable.
