Firstly, the staff were amazing. They were so polite and lovely... It's the hotel that lets it down. By that, I mean the way they do things, breakfast is limited and not worth paying for. They're stuck in the 70's with a small fry up section, some yoghurt with no fruit to pair with it, the toast is toast, no complaints there, but a rather poor selection overall for the price. The coffee was okay, probably the best part about it.
The 'Spa' needs to be dropped from their name, the saunas are lovely, hard to get wrong. But the pool was very cold, not heated at all and more of a family swim session. The pool advertises as heated with a whirlpool, this was far too cold to enjoy.
The room was okay, the window had mould and you couldn't open it. The shower and bath suitable for a stay however, the bathroom had mould in places. The 'double' bed was two singles pushed together, meaning the middle had a very hard line running down it from each mattress end. Not comfortable at all. The mattresses are quite done, they need updating. The sheets were so slippy, I constantly slipped down into the bed and off my pillow. This exacerbated my current back problem and so we cut our stay short and went home early.
The hotel was more expensive than those around, thought I was doing the right thing by booking it. Wouldn't stay again unfortunately.
