£50 deposit for a room that takes ages to get back

Hotel is nice enough, I had a triple room. Pints nearly £7 up north is a joke and they charge you £50 deposit to stay, the woman tried to scoff at me as she falsely said " it's a very common thing now " no it isn't. I stay in hotels 4 days a week around the country and only two have done it. She swiped my card as she again told me incorrectly " it's just a deposit " and it immediately took £50 and it's the day after and it's still not back. Shame as I'm sat in another hotel around the corner that's not as aesthetically pleasing but that £50 charge has guaranteed I will not go back to that hotel again.

Nice hotel and good value for money. Shame about the 11 oclock check out on the Sunday and the breakfast that finished at 9:30. Apart from that, the hotel was clean and comfortable.

Stopped in single room 27. Very uncomfortble bed very very small bathroom and bathroom sink. No notice of a wedding party on Saturday the guests/childrens behaviour was atrocious i asked the staff on 3 occasions to ask them to keep the noise down and it carried on until 1am

Long wait for a receptionist when we arrived to check in - only member of staff on duty had been escorting potential clients around wedding facilities but unmanned reception not very welcoming. Room comfortable but some minor maintenance needed - links missing in vertical blinds, and bathroom door binding on frame making loud creak when trying to shut the door. Broken back to TV remote so batteries exposed. Breakfast ok but expensive at £15.

Straight of of the 1950's. Not a nice play to stay

The room so so outdated it was rediculous It reminded me of my nans house Everything was old, out dated and worn out. Carpets, chairs, walls, everything was stained and marked. When they say warning the water is hot, oh my lord they are not kidding, it could melt steel it's silly hot The room is NOTHING like the pictures. I'd never stay again

Journey to Newcastle from somerset to watch footba

It was the hottest day of the year, and we couldn’t get the radiator off. The shower head was loose on the holder and squirted water in the wrong direction. which didn’t make any difference because we couldn’t use it as only really hot water came out . Plus the wall had dents in it . Would have told reception but no one was there when we checked out . Dredful place ,won’t be back.

Poor WIFI and Rubbish Shower

when i first arrived was given a room with no table or chair and i needed to work from the hotel. Went down to reception and then they moved me to a room with a table and chair. Went straight to sleep and woke up early as the blind in the velux window was letting through light. Went out for breakfast and got back about 1. Tried to work but WIFI was so slow that i only had 1 bar in my room. Managed to send out a couple of emails but that took longer than it should. So decided to have shower and find wifi somewhere else. The shower was freezing and the flow was terrible. so decided to pack up and leave. Went to reception and told him i was checking out a day early as WIFI rubbish and shower rubbish, he just smiled.

What an amazing place

I had a great stay the room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The staff were most helpful and approachable making me feel more settled as I travelled alone. The breakfast was amazing and hot! The room was clean and there was complimentary things in the bathroom which you never get! The only snag was I could hear some sort of generator or air conditioning unit that didn’t go off/ quieter until midnight and I like it quiet when I sleep or I can’t sleep.

Room was large and very nice but extremely hot at times, I'm sure I would've been provided with a fan should I have asked but I didn't as I was in and out due to work, so that was on me, not the hotel. Staff were fantastic and nice relaxed feel about the place. Would definitely stay again when in the area.

Pub being busy ( got impression that big party that was in , was meant to be at pub but pub too busy and loud with garden party which had extended inside !!! ) Saying that , would not stop us staying again x

Great Find, lovely hotel

I stayed with my 7 year old daughter for one night only, we arrived late and left early so was not here long. Room was clean and comfortable, staff were lovely, food was lovely and there was ample parking. Qpuld definitely stay again and was really happy with the price.
