The ghost tour at Sister's Grimm was entertaining. Our guide at the Alamo was the best, and we had a fantastic river boat guide. The Saga at San Fernando Cathedral is a must see. Our only issue was the tail lights were stolen off my truck downtown

The River Walk is still a unique & fun adventure with great shops & restaurants. Lots of updating being done around the Alamo & Alamo Plaza that will enhance the Alamo experience. The River Center Mall has lost its luster & is in need of a overhaul

The downtown is filled with historic buildings and doesn't feel like a hard-core urban center with massive skyscrapers. There is lots of greenery, downtown and the people all over the city are extremely friendly. Downtown is VERY clean as well.

The area around the Alamo is a bit of a tourist trap with people trying to sell you cheap tickets but was actually timeshare which was annoying. Alamo is great. Some building going on there but doesn't get in the way of the enjoyment. Safe area.

Seeing the Alamo was extremely interesting. Delicious Bbq restaurants, Fogo De Chao Steakhouse was absolutely delicious. They bring different cuts to your table. It's all you can eat. Also we were close to Six Flags and Seaworld in San Antonio.

We did the Alamo/River Walk. We were impressed how clean it was during the holiday season. We felt safe in both locations and surprisingly no one was loud and drunk. Families were about and groups of people and everyone was respectful and polite.

Been to San Antonio quite a few times over the years but never did a tour. Definitely do a city tour to learn about the city. Also, do the boat tour on the Riverwalk again a lot of historical information and so so beautiful at night with lights

Bring extra water in summer. Take a ghost tour. Bring extra socks for all the walking and bring your detergent. Do all 4 attractions at Ripleys and take lots of pictures. Take the kiddos to the rainforest cafe. The Alamo is beautiful at night.

San Antonio has really changed over the years. It has become more diverse and theres just so much to do. It's sort of become my home away from home and I enjoy some of the stuff that my little town doesnt offer. It is like a mini Austin.

"Loved the property, valet was convenient, lobby was beautiful. Elevator, rooms, bathrooms and hallways can use some updating, very dated but clean. Bathrooms need to be regrouted. Such a convenient location. We stayed here twice. The cinnamon rolls in the cafe are to die for. "
"From check-in to check-out, the staff were friendly and accomodating. Stayed for three nights. I found the bed to be uncomfortable after the first night and the room wasn't cooling like it should. I was immediately relocated to another room where the bed was more suitable and the temperature was much better. The Menger is an old hotel and as such some things like water pressure, water temperature, and cooling may be affected. However, the hotel staff did go out of their way to ensure I had a pleasant stay - and I absolutely did! The convenience of a short walk to the Alamo and the Riverwalk brings entertainment, dining, and shopping to the point where a car wasn't needed. Information services is inside the hotel where you can book the trolley, the river cruise, and other available services. When we decide to go back to San Antonio, this is the hotel that I would love to stay at once again. "
"Very nice resort. My kids enjoyed the lazy River and the kids activities and movies. Room was very nice with a balcony. Parking wasn’t bad during the week but on weekends when events are going in it can be very limited. Racquetball area was fun, s’mores every night we were there and my kids were able to ride their scooters in the evening.
Cons: breakfast buffet was overpriced imo. Wouldn’t recommend eating there unless it’s convenient. "
