Absolutely disappointed when I arrived / I had booked my room for 2 nights through hotels.com and unfortunately my original arrival date Sunday the 12th I was unable to make because I got mandated to work a overtime shift with my department.
I contacted hotels.com after calling the hotel first who said they couldn’t speak to me directly about the booking since it was through hotels.com I then asked hotels.com to reach out to the hotel to see if Sunday could be cancelled and they said it could not.
I then advised hotels.com just keep the reservation and I’ll pay for both nights. I arrived Monday the 13th after getting off shift at 0300 in the morning and driving all day with my 2 daughter and their friend from Florida to arrive only to find out that the hotel cancelled my reservation.
I booked and paid for the room using affirm so now I had to pay for the 1 night stay with a my bank debit that I did not intend on using.
Never once did I get a call of any communication from the hotel about cancelling my reservation.
So why can the hotel cancel the initial reservation without even speaking to me about it but I could not cancel 1 night because I literally could not travel due to work
I felt like I had no choice at check in and that the cancellation and the pitch of giving me a hotel member rate was a deceptive business practice coupled with a failure in customer communication ended up costing me money I did not plan on spending.
Refund my 1 night stay
