Stayed for one night with my boyfriend as a stopover between Sutherland and Cape Town, and honestly wish we’d booked two. Despite booking very last minute, Evelyn made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived with a glass of champagne.
The property is beautifully curated; every piece of furniture and decor feels intentional, giving the whole place a boutique, high-end atmosphere. We had our own parking space right outside our suite, which was a nice touch. The suite itself genuinely exceeded expectations: four poster bed, in-room sauna, and a jacuzzi bath made it feel like a mini retreat.
The infinity pool area is stunning, with loungers and daybeds spread around and panoramic views of the Montagu mountains. We headed into town for dinner on the owners’ recommendation and ended the night with a glass of wine in the bar back at the hotel.
The bed was incredibly comfortable; had one of the best sleeps of the trip, and breakfast the next morning was excellent. If we were doing it again, we would definitely stay two nights to make time for the pool and the spa facilities.
