Lovely stay
Gail, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Room was extremely hot, so hot that I only slept for 2 hours and checked out due to being so uncomfortable. I also had to pay £10 for a replacement keycard. This is ludicrous
Kris, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Friendly staff and close to the city for the price. Shower didn't work properly and parking is just on the neighbouring streets.

Not enough space

The hotel was neat, but the bathrooms are too tiny, tight and small and not comfortable at all. It was very difficult to have a clean bath.

This stay was very poor and uncomfortable. I had a unexpected fee for parking which wasn’t mentioned on the booking and the room was uncomfortable and in disrepair

I was very happy staying at The Grainger Hotel again. Incidentally i have stayed at The Grainger Hotel on numerous occasions. If i need to be in Newcastle not far from Town i always choose The Grainger Hotel as i know it makes perfect sense to do so. The single room with en-suite was immaculate & well presented. The bed was very comfortable & i slept well. The amenities provided at the Grainger Hotel are very good in my view. The Grainger Hotel provides me with great value for my money & is a fantastic Hotel in my view. I have NEVER had a problem whilst staying at The Grainger Hotel to date thankfully. Finally i will certainly stay at The Grainger Hotel again & i shall be recommending The Grainger to all & sundry afterall.

I enjoyed my two night stay at The Grainger Hotel. The room i stayed in with en-suite was immaculate & well presented. Incidentally i have stayed in this particular room previously & was very happy upon learning i was staying in the same room again. I found peace in this room previously, i was able to relax & unsurprisingly i slept very well. The amenities provided at The Grainger Hotel are very good & satisfy me. The staff are both friendly & helpful at The Grainger Hotel. Furthermore i have NEVER had one single problem when i have stayed at The Grainger Hotel to date which is very pleasing upon reflection. Finally & in conclusion The Grainger Hotel is a great Hotel that offers guests exceptional value for their money. I will definitely stay at The Grainger Hotel in the future & i shall certainly recommend The Grainger Hotel to all & sundry afterall.

The room where I lodged was dirty, smelly and mouldy. The tap in the bathroom were not working. The room was freezing and the staff could do nothing to help. I couldn’t even have a bath because I was scared of germ. I managed to survive the one night I spent there. Can’t recommend them.

2/10 Poor

Room was small which was fine, toilet had old urine and pubic hair on so cleary hadnt been cleaned, good job i had wipes, shower fluctuated from scalding hot to ice cold so couldnt have a proper wash, stains on the bed sheets n wat looked like crisp crumbs in the bed, the mattress was very old, springs bulging so no sleep, checked out at 6.30am as no point being there, only was the room was warm
Julie, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

It was a cheap dive with aged room which was expected for the price. But there's this flash lobby with leather lounges and a pool table. It was so out of place compared to the value priced rooms. Actually would have been a pretty fancy place in it's day but it's dated and basic in a cheap end of town. Definitely met expectations though if you're after affordable stay with the basics.

2/10 Poor

The bathroom taps provided hot water only there was creaking floorboards above our room all night wasn’t near town like stated the room was freezing no heating on and the Wi-Fi and tv connection was terrible

6/10 Good

The toilet was situated in between the shower and wall with very little room to sit properly. Also the taps on the sink moved when i opened them and didnt easily close. They needed maintenance.

The property was not maintained windows didn’t shut properly blinds held down with nails. Bathroom door couldn’t be closed properly as no handle on inside lift didn’t work heating was on all night which made it hard to sleep. And because windows were badly fitting road noise was bad not recommended

Don’t bother, pay the extra to stay somewhere else

First of all, the room was freezing. While getting ready I had to wear my coat round me. The shower had mould along the door, so many marks, torn wall paper, broken blind, wet patch near the radiator that wouldn’t dry. We had to fiddle with the door to open our room as the lock was faulty, the shower head kept flopping forward. All night there was music blasting and you can just feel the bass through the walls and finally the whole floor just stunk of weed. I wouldn’t stay here again if they paid me and I’ve stayed in some questionable places in Blackpool. The electric was down in the office so we couldn’t get our room key deposit - how convenient. I also wouldn’t say it’s close to the city centre, took us 40 mins to walk to the bars

A payment was taken from my debit card the day before I traveled, despite Expedia stating that payment would be collected on arrival, when I got to check in, and told the hotel I had already paid and I could prove it , He said I dont care if you have paid eviivo , if you want to stay here you have to pay the hotel , this gave me no option other than to leave, as I felt I had already paid, so I went home, my trip to Newcastle totally ruined, by too many parties, Expedia Eviivo and the hotel taking actions and instructions that did not match, and also the payment from my card was taken without my knowledge or consent and no description or instruction on how to act once it had been taken..

Possibly the worst hotel I have ever been in EVER!

Possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Staff were friendly enough but this hotel is a dilapidated, run down, uncared for place. 1. Rain ingress through the window frame. In room 204, the bed is directly under the window, so being woken up by dripped on (which soon became worse) was not pleasant experience. So much so that I had to move the bed and set up water collection where the rain was coming through. Pictures below. 2. Damaged electrical sockets 3. Carpet had been burnt in places 4. No wardrobe 5. No Chair to use as chairdrobe 6. There was a chest of draws, but filthy 7. Loo roll holder MIA 8. Holes where things have clear be broken off 9. TV had crack right across the screen 10. Mattress was knackard, with springs making for an uncomfortable nights sleep (on top of being woken by rain ingress) If I hadn't been so worn out from the travel and Great North Run, I'd have left. If I could offer anybody reading this some advise, consider the points above before booking
Signs something used to be here
Loo roll holder missing presumed stolen
Electrical socket not safely mounted
We'll just cover everything in Polyfilla, that will make it safe

I arrived at The Grainger hotel with apprehensive feelings, after reading the reviews.I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw when I walked into the property. My room wasn't ready when i arrived, but to be fair i was quite a bit early.I only had to wait half an hour. The room was quite small but was very adequate for my accommodation needs. The room was clean and tidy and the staff were really helpful too.I will definitely be back
