We had a delightful time staying at Stratford with Anne. The property was spacious and well maintained, and Anne provided impeccable service with fresh cookies, wine & cheese, and incredible breakfasts. The location was great, as we could walk to anywhere in Bar Harbor and easily hop in the car to head to the park. We absolutely loved our stay!

Great time in Stratford

Stratford is a beautiful Bed&Breakfast. The location is fantastic. It’s quiet but very close, walkable distance to the town and restaurants!! Anne, the owner is such a nice person and SPOILS her guests. Afternoon wine and cheese, cookies all day and an incredible and sumptuous breakfast. The room was beautiful and the whole house is very clean. We would definitely go there again.

Stratford is an elegant gem in downtown Bar Harbor. Just a few minutes to the village green, shops and restaurants. Wonderful, attentive owner and staff. I highly recommend Stratford - don’t miss it!

It’s a house that has seven rooms for guests usage. The hostess is very friendly, she provides breakfast for all the guests, like in a family home. The drawbacks are bathroom is very small, and faucet water is easy to splash out; the sink vanity is small and not much room for the guests to lay out stuff.

Nice, clean and tasty (food and decoration).

Very cozy and classical bed and breakfast hotel. The hotel is decorated with many English style old furniture and art pieces. The breakfast is different and freshly cooked every day and you can choose what you want the day before. Eating breakfast in a beautiful dinning room and chat with other tenants is very nice. Would definitely recommend.

Probably wouldn’t stay again :(

This is a hard one for me to review. Overall we were disappointed. Mainly due to comfort level. The location was fantastic, breakfast very nice and staff was friendly. It definitely has an old spooky feel, which I don’t mind, but just be aware of what you are walking into. My main issues were that the attic suite we were in was very stuffy and warm. Windows only opened a little and the AC was switched over to hear so we had very little relief. No ceiling fans. Being in the attic made it tough, and uncomfortable. Second issue is the bathroom and shower, very tiny and shower stall was crazy small. Curtain wrapped all around you while showering and barely able to bend over or move. The last minor issue is that the only mirror ( small one) was in the bathroom. For a couple getting ready a second mirror would be a great addition. I don’t think I’d stay here again but with some improvements I think the location and history of the building would make it a great choice.

Ideal location, easy walk to restaurants & attractions in Bar Harbor. The morning breakfast was very filling - kept us full for the day for our hikes in the park. Wine & cheese in the afternoon and breakfast community table was ideal for mingling with other guests. The owners were extremely courteous and very helpful with their suggestions.

We found this inn almost by accident. We were delighted! The staff were amazing and the innkeeper was very informative and responsive to all of our questions. The room was very comfortable, large, and homey. Breakfast each day was superb! When we come back to Bar Harbor, we will definitely stay at The Stratford.

We recently stayed for a long weekend anniversary trip at the Stratford and it elevated our vacation in wonderful ways! The house and accommodations are beautiful and very close to everything in downtown. We could easily walk to everything in Bar Harbor. But the thing that made the accommodations really special was the owner and staff! She made us the most incredible breakfast each morning, set out fresh baked cookies during the day, and had a wine and cheese snack in the evenings. We made time to sit, enjoy, and have conversations. The Stratford exemplifies perfectly the way life ought to be! We would definitely return!

This is an older home but very quaint and clean. The bathroom was very small but the room was spaceous and the bed was very comfortable. The cleaning staff was very help and friendly. I can not say enough great things about Ann and her hospitality!! The breakfasts were delicious! She also had some great restaurant and activity recommendations. She even shared some books and maps of the area. It was great getting to know other people staying there and hearing about what they did or were going to do in the area. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat! Everything was an easy walking distance and we had our own designated parking place.

Anne was so nice, we felt like honored guests in her home. Breakfasts were delicious and the room was quiet and comfortable. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Only a short drive to Acadia national park. What was totally unexpected was an opportunity over breakfast to meet the other guests and learn from their daily experiences and gain new recommendations. Highly recommend!
