Just a one night stay after a stressful work period: check-in was quick and helpful, the room, on the Garden level was large, clean and comfortable, with a balcony on which were a couple of sun-loungers. A really nice bathroom, a great television, robes, slippers, tea & coffee, ironing board and iron.
I ate in the Club lounge, with a perfect sea view, good services, excellent Chardonnay and acceptable fish & chips. (cheaper than our local chip-shop here in London)
Breakfast was also great: a huge choice from the cold buffet and also from the Full English section. Coffee was good, juice was excellent, pastries full-sized, as opposed to the miniature ones that too many hotels serve these days. The only let-down was the scrambled egg, but I find that's pretty much the norm in any hotel restaurant that has scrambled egg as part of a serve-yourself buffet: it's either an impenetrable lump, or a watery mess, that latter in this case.
Aside from that, a relaxing stay in a slightly faded, but still grand in attitude, hotel.
