It's like heaven

The best hotel in Koh Pangang

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for 4 nights and enjoyed every second of it. We had a private pool in our room but also used the wonderful pool area by the sea. Compliments to the chef and her staff for good food and fun experience during the cooking class. This hotel is one of the best ones I have stayed at and would warmly recommend it to everyone.

Stunningly beautiful resort in the rainforest. We had a pool room in hotel 4 which was unbelievable. Staff is 10/10, breakfast buffet is amazing and there are many restaurant in the resort to enjoy. Will be returning and absolutely recommend.

Private villa of your dreams!

Wonderful Villa Plus with private swimming pool, like in a dream! Overlooking the bay, great unobstructed view and very large, surrounded by nature. Breakfasts are great and full of choice. Staff is full of smiles and so helpful. We loved it!

Great hideaway north east of Koh Phanang

Great place to stay if you want a relaxing holiday to chill out and do very little. We did have a laugh at the old school music playlist that was on repeat so we did nearly know what song was next by the end of the week. Breakfast was great! Great variety. Staff were so lovely and friendly. Very responsive on WhatsApp for anything we needed. The food ordering system in restaurants and in the room via qr codes was great. Small beach which wasn’t the best to sunbathe on if you wanted to lie on the sand but over a bit of rockery you could access the larger beach beside it with access to a wider variety of cafes and restaurants.

Beautiful location. Villa with private pool was spectacular with a fabulous view. The main pool was also lovely. The resort is showing signs of wear, some attention needed to maintenance. A few things were not functioning in our room, they were quickly set right -but the suite was clearly not thoroughly checked. The resort tried to nickel and dime us for every little thing though. (Charging us £50 for a "late" check out of only an extra two hours seemed extortionate given occupancy so low and the length and cost of our stay). The management team in reception are not empowered to be flexible it seems. The cost of their excursions, food and transport options were also really high compared to what you will find a short walk down the beach. The food quality was not that great either. We ate outside the resort most of the time. Overall, beautiful place with very friendly staff. Just eat in the town / on the beach and use local options for excursions and transport.

Need maintenance.

Friendly staff. Front desk used 48 minutes for a simple upgrade to a better room . Bed bugs. Stayed at Synthiya in 2016. Returned in December 2024 where it’s clear that hotel area needs maintenance. Bad timing for pier maintenance. Noice all day from grinding - December 20th and 21st (weekend before X-mas).

Zero Thai hospitality- very disappointing stay

We were really looking forward to our stay at Santhiya Koh Phangan, but unfortunately the experience fell far short of expectations. The biggest disappointment was the customer service, which lacked the warm Thai hospitality we’ve come to know and love throughout our travels in Thailand. Staff often felt indifferent, unhelpful, and at times even dismissive, which left us feeling unwelcome rather than relaxed. The property itself has potential, but the service overshadowed any positives. Small issues quickly turned into big frustrations because of the lack of attentiveness and care from the team. At this level of resort, we expected friendly, proactive service that made us feel taken care of, but instead we left feeling let down. Example 1 & 2 - attempting to organize a ferry terminal pickup was a nightmare, after contacting them 3 days in advanced, it was 30 min prior to boarding my ferry to the island that they said they could not pick us up. Handle to scramble to an atm to get cash to pay for a taxi. Same issue on return trip only confirming night before. Resort is massive so you need to call tuktuks, felt like we were inconveniencing staff. Checkout took 15+ min Breakfast food for price we paid was so average and even restaurant food (lunch and dinner were average) Our family really were looking forward to our stay but this resort needs a big wake up call.

Although there was a serious tropical storm warning on the 20th July for Koh Phangan/Koh Samui, the hotel did a boat transfer of 19 hotel guests!!! According to the hotel, there should be some rain but the sea should be calm, they said, when I asked hours before leaving with the boat. The boattrip was a pure nightmare, which we only survived with great luck! How could this boattrip be done with a weather forecast, that showed very bad conditions already Hours in advance!!! For 10 days I have now tried to get an explanation from the hotel and an idea, how to avoid such a scenario for the future. Furthermore: there was no safety instructions made and first the employes on the boat, while they laughed, gave me a lifejacket for kids! Most of my questions to the hotel have now purely been ignored. This hotel is unfortunately not at all interested in it’s guests. What a shame Santhiya! If You’re interested just google for „weather Koh Samui on 20th of July 2025“. At that time Santhiya transfered 19 hotel guests with their little speedboat - all other Boat Trips were stopped or cancelled and the Airport was temporarily closed. Only Santhiya didn‘t bother…..

I have stayed at the Santhiya on Koh Yao Yai and i expected this one to be on par, however this was not the case. This hotel is needing many renovations and repairs. I realize COVID has been hard on everyone but this hotel is not up to the 5 star rating. The grounds are beautiful but need to be cut back and cleaned up. The redort is built on the side of a cliff meaning there are deep steps up and down everywhere, making it tiring just to go to the bathroom when your at the pool. Overall the quality of the hotel is lacking for the price.

Worst place ever

This place is just awful. It’s an absolute joke. Do not be fooled by their beautiful grounds and their “5-star” claim. This hotel is a scam. First off, the resort is very far from town and you have to take a taxi to-and-from (which shouldn’t be a problem). We had to pay at the front desk for a taxi and they were quick to immediately mention we had to pay the taxi driver upon arrival as well. Paying double for a taxi? To top it off, the taxi NEVER showed up. We waited at the front gate for over an hour and nobody came to pick us up. By that time, all the restaurants were closed. The bathtub in our room had brown water flowing out of it.. we were told by the hotel staff that the water was “unsanitary” and “unsafe”. That is completely unacceptable and is a health hazard. Their beds are hard as rock and it’s as if you’re sleeping on the ground. We were unable to use their pool towels after 6 pm and were told there’s no exception to this rule. Seriously? Guests who pay money to stay at the resort can’t borrow a towel? They did not compensate us for any of these inconveniences. The hotel staff is by far some of the most rude people I’ve ever interacted with and the language barrier is horrible. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

We had a rather disappointing stay at this hotel. From the moment we entered our (upgraded) room, we heard constant talking noises coming from an unclear source. After some checking, we discovered there was a staff room located directly beneath ours, which made the stay quite unpleasant. When we contacted the staff, they initially told us this couldn’t be the case. Only after insisting did they admit there might indeed be such a room and said they would check. They offered to move us to another room, but it was of lower quality than the one we had booked, and overall it felt like they weren’t really trying to make us feel comfortable. The rooms themselves are nicely designed, but not very practical or comfortable. Because of the rain, the bathroom got wet and dirty easily. At the end of our second day, we found that our room hadn’t been cleaned at all, which made us decide to leave the hotel early. The hotel restaurant wasn’t great either, though the service there was nice — we preferred eating outside instead. The hotel shuttle service was also quite poor and disorganized. On the positive side, the pool area and the beach were pleasant.

Smukkeste hotel

Smukt hotel med en god stemning. Fantastisk udsigt fra "Ocean view" værelser ved saltvands poolen. En smule slidte værelser. Virkelig høj service. Lidt isoleret hotel. Perfekt til afslapning og at komme helt ned i gear. Vil vil klart anbefale dette hotel. Det er en meget god oplevelse. Maden er en lille smule kedelig, men 5 minutter i taxa ligger en lille by med restauranter, 7/11 og massage. Priserne er meget høje på hotellet. Men fair, det er det hele værd.

Ich kann die Santhyia Hotelkette im Allgemeinen sehr empfehlen. Der Service, die Anlage, die Zimmer alles ist top. Das Essen ist in Ordnung. Kommt jedoch auch auf den Geschmack an. Das einzige wirkliche Manko ist, dass die Anlagen leider immer sehr abseits gebaut werden und so gut wie nichts drumherum ist.

A beautiful resort decorated with traditional Thai woodworking. Beautiful pools and landscaping. Excellent staff. A great place to come and relax. Private beach and pools with waterfalls. Variety of rooms with different views to choose from. It is a large resort and a little spread out but they provide free and efficient shuttle service throughout the property.
