서귀포 칼 호텔은 지은지 오래되었지만 매우 관리가 잘 되어 있었습니다. 현대적인 건축은 아니었지만 오히려 앤틱을 좋아하는 나에게는 매우 정돈되고 정갈해 보였고 곳곳에 보수하고 수리한 흔적은 오히려 저에게 배려심을 느끼게 해 주었습니다. 또 아침 식사도 매우 깔끔했고 전 직원들이 정성스럽게 매우 민첨하게 서빙해 주었습니다. 호텔 안의 둘레길도 매우 인상적이었고 오래 된 고목들이 제 지칮 마음을 치유해 주었습니다.

한라산과 바다 전망이 좋다. 7,8월에는 풀에서 수영할 수 있다, 넓은 잔디밭, 올레길이 통과해 산보하기 좋고 편안한 휴식처로 최고다. 아침 뷔페가 맛 있고 저녁 음식 맛도 좋다. 공항에서 호텔까지 1시간 간격으로 리무진이 운행하나 다른 교통편이 좋지 않다.
