A Wonderful Stay at Porto Palácio Hotel

My stay at Porto Palácio Hotel was truly exceptional. The service was warm and professional, the room elegant and comfortable, and the views from the rooftop bar were unforgettable. I especially appreciated the relaxing sauna steam room and jacuzzi and the hotel’s perfect balance of luxury and convenience. The breakfast buffet was amazing, it has everything you need and staff on hand were extremely friendly and accommodating. A beautiful experience I’d happily repeat.

Porto Palacio Hotel by the Editory

A lovely hotel, with very helpful attentive staff. Rooftop bar and restaurant on the nineteenth floor. I didn’t get chance to use the Spa but it looked lovely. The Hotel is in a very safe area with good restaurants close by. Porto is a big City so it’s a 50 minute walk from the River and main area, but taxis are cheap and readily available.

Hotel has the best hospitality. The location is great. Additional points for the amazing rooftop bar and restaurant. You get to see the best views. Loved my stay

Perfect hotel for a stay in Porto. A fair walk to the centre and beach but if you like walking and exploring it’s perfect. The spa is good too. The staff were all brilliant when dealing with requests. Will look to stay at another Editory hotel in the future.

Spacious Room, Good location out of town

Although this hotel is not downtown there are still plenty of restaurants and supermarkets within reach. Uber or Bolt is your friend and you can get downtown for as little as 4EUR. We didnt take breakfast as we were staying 5 nights and thought it a little pricey but plenty on the doorstep including a supermarket right next door where you could get pastries. We had a high floor room which was north facing so no sun but nice views. If i was to return i would ensure to ask for the south facing where i assume you overlook the city. The room itself was large and the bed was huge. However it was dark, being north facing and due to dark furniture so seemed a little miserable We didnt eat in the hotel but we used the bar on the rooftop which had amazing views. We used the spa. They have monthly offers which seemed to be a good deal. The deal included the use of their circuit which was simply thermal baths with jets, hammans, jacuzzi etc. Some elements needed repairs but overall was nice as we were the only people in there. We used the swimming pool and contrary to another members feedback it was free for guests.

4/10 Fair

This hotel claims to be 5-star, but our experience was far from it. The air conditioning didn’t work the entire time we were there, making the room unbearably hot and impossible to sleep in. We reported the issue three times—each time we were told a technician would come. Someone showed up twice, only to tell us there was nothing they could do. No resolution, no apology, no compensation. On top of that, the beds were uncomfortable and the carpet was stained and filthy. For a hotel that markets itself as luxury, the reality is way off. Poor maintenance, poor service, and not worth the money. Avoid if you’re expecting anything close to a 5-star stay.
Caroline, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

Really liked the fitness center and pool. The WiFi was horrible and usually couldn't get a connection. Property is far way from the city center and shopping/dining options.
Scott, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Good location and value

A little further out of the more touristy areas but the busses stop right outside the hotel. The Mercado Bom Sucesso is just a 10min walk for excellent food and drink. Spa is not included in the room rate and is €20 per person for 90mins water circuit. Could do with just a tiny refurb to get all the features working but still worth a visit. Would definitely stay here again.
Anthony, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

Staff were attentive and friendly, and the hotel had good facilities, and was very clean. I would have appreciated a fridge in the room, as I travel on a budget, and often buy food for late night snacks or a quick breakfast, and the carpet was clean, but due to be replaced. Clearer information about the amenities on the website or in the room or elevators (great that there is a pool -- but where? Hours?) would have been useful. The area around the hotel is clean and safe, but a bit bland; apart from a few buildings I could have been in any country in Europe. Transit options for getting into the centre of Porto or out to the beach and aquarium were close to the hotel, but unreliable as far as the bus schedule was concerned. Given the excellent service, comfortable room, and reasonable price, I would very happily recommend this hotel to family and friends or stay there again myself -- but I would allow a little more time to get to the old city (or take a taxi -- very inexpensive). Also, don't miss the roof bar! I only went on my last night, and really regretted not having gone sooner.
View from the roof bar looking south.
View from my room on the 10th floor looking north.
Casa da Musica, a short walk from the hotel towards downtown (also the name of the metro station closest to the hotel).
Roderick Hugh, 6-night trip

6/10 Good

This hotel totes itself as a 5 star hotel, but having travelled to many, it is not at that level. Buffet breakfast is limited in options compared to other hotels at a 5 star quality rating. The room I was in had stained carpet and the drain in the shower was not functIonal, nor was soap checked for levels. The location is not convenient for pedestrian access to the old city. But convenient enough to the metro. Room is quiet and the sliding door dividing the bath and toilet rooms (they were separate in my room) adds acoustic privacy. The separate bath and toilet room would be convenient for people travleeing together but less so maybe for solo.
Mario, 2-night trip

Stay was lovely but the food choice wasn’t your taste we did order a burger and chips from the hub but it came out good then the next lot of chips came out over cooked
