The hotel is still under construction. We were woken up at 8 am on a Sunday morning to banging and what appeared to be drilling and hoovering noises. Despite this, the staff were warm and very welcoming. False fire alarm brought us out of the building, staff couldn't apologise enough and we were swiftly back into the building due to their organisation. The room itself was large and clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and we were provided with ample amenities/toiletries.

Fine, check in person was very friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast dtaff also very helpful and polite. Very nice to have an individual cooked breakfast in place of the "help yousrlf" variety.

I’ve stayed at the met quite a few times, new rooms very nice sadly air conditioning was not working as still in process of refurbishment also the lift out of order yesterday, stairs had to be used however these are still in part refurbishment.

It’s a lovely period building which is listed and getting renovated we stayed in a newly refurbished standard double room which was lovely and catered for everything we wanted other than that there was no air conditioning fitted as yet and was a very warm room although a fan was in the room the windows did not open and a hook closer to shower would be good thete was nowhere to hang damp towels either but a very pleasant stay we didn’t have any meals in the hotel so can’t comment but renovations are in full swing so be prepared for a little disruption 😉

The building works make the hotel unsuitable for guests. Hotels.com should not list it until they are completed. One the first morning the water was cut off and the lobby was full of plaster dust. I had to leave immediately. The staff were very kind and helpful.
