I recently stayed at the Hyatt in San Marcos and, overall, the experience was mixed.
On the positive side, almost every staff member I encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Housekeeping, the breakfast team, and most of the front-desk staff went out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. Their kindness really stood out and made parts of my stay enjoyable.
The hotel was clean and had a homely feel. I was happy to feel so comfortable and safe.
However, my interactions with one front-desk employee, Kim, were unfortunately the opposite. In my personal experience, she came across as impatient and dismissive, and I noticed similar behavior toward other guests as well. It created a very uncomfortable first impression each time I approached the desk, which was disappointing compared to the otherwise excellent service throughout the hotel.
If the hotel addressed this issue, I’d happily consider staying again, because the rest of the staff truly delivered great hospitality.
