Worse place ever had the displeasure of staying

Worst hotel ever - stayed one night out of a two night booking . No kettle , no heating , no hot shower , dirty pillow as thin as a wafer .bed impossible to sleep on . Full of asylum seeker that were noisy and hanging around every where in the hotel . AVOID THIS HOLE AT ALL COSTS .

Needs a good deep clean.

It’s no frills, that we are happy with but it doesn’t mean it should not be cleaned. The shower was filthy. I actually started cleaning it with the shower puff left in the shower. Lots of filth just fell off. The window had grime all around it too.

Do not stay here, even expecting it to be cheal

Someone who looked intoxicated and under the influence offered me £10 to buy their phone. I had to present photo ID for some reason (i assume because of all the crime at the hotel) and i didnt have any, so they took their personal phone and took a photo of me. Very unsafe and strange hotel, nothing like the pictures, in a very rough part of the city.

A bit Disappointing

Met at Reception by Pauline who was friendly and sorted our room out within minutes. Got into the room and found that there were no Coffee/Tea making facilities or hairdryer. Far from a revamped smoking area, just an outside space with undercover area more like a storeroom. Parking was difficult and not Secure a stated. Gates were left open overnight, so anybody could come and go as they pleased. On the bright side, Good beer and wine at a good price.

8/10 Very good

Clean standard room, bathroom was very small like a little cupboard but was suitable for our 1 night stay, staff were friendly, breakfast was lovely, area was okay and had good access via uber to the utilita and the coach station which only cost between £5-£9 for 3 of us, it was quiet inside the pub and room which was a shock as we were expecting it to be quite noisy as it’s on top of a pub but we did come on a Tuesday as we were there for a concert. There was a small tv which had standard free view channels, with a remote that worked. There was towels and soaps on the beds clean on arrival, beds were clean and comfortable.

Very good value, very friendly place

Myself and my daughter had a very pleasant stay, the highlights for us was the personal, friendly service from the family throughout our stay. The pub has a nice atmosphere with a community feel. The beds and bedroom was very comfortable, although bare in mind there is several floors of stairs and there is only on the road parking. Very close to birmingham city centre and star city by car. Only difficulty we experienced was that the walls are paperthin and our neighbours were slamming doors and talking very loudly for some time past 11pm so this did affect the quality of our sleep but that isnt the owners fault and can happen in any accommodation. An improvement would be black out curtains as the blind didnt keep much light out. The shower was lovely and warm and good pressure and the little toiletries were perfectly adequate for us

great hotel, 5 dads and lads (5 year olds) made the kids feel welcome, gave them flags, let them play on pool table etc. pubs decent, fairly big. rooms fairly basic but comfy, just what you need for a one night stay. we got uber to and from villa park, £5 for 4 seater ew. only negative is the area around the hotel possibly not the nicest spot and when we stayed there no private parking so have to park on the road and it fairly busy so we had to park a fair way from the hotel

No frills hotel but very clean and comfortable

Check in was a breeze, Bryan checked our photo id,took our payment then explained about access after hours and directed us to our room. We had booked a room with 2 single beds and found it to be very clean and comfortable, not the biggest of rooms but we were only sleeping there so didn't bother us in the slightest. Returned about half ten to a karaoke night in the down stairs function room where bryan invited us to join in but we didn't. Had a couple of very reasonably priced drinks and listened to the very talented participants of the karaoke. The following morning had a beautiful English breakfast again very reasonably priced. All in all a great no frills hotel , clean and tidy with a great welcome.

Our stay was 3 nights, we were welcomed by Brain at the bar as we checked in, we showed ID then were give room keys, as we walked in our everything was clean & tidy, nice size room, clean sheets & towels, overall we had a great stay, atmosphere was friendly, downstairs in the hotel bar, there was entertainment each night, from Bingo to karaoke. Brain, his wife & sons were kind, helpful & very easy to approach. We had a lovely stay, would definitely recommend, specially for the price, we will be booking in again soon!

6/10 Good

Clean but tatty and very basis.

My wife & I stayed here while visiting a dying relative so we only needed a bed for the night without any frills and we were in the room for less than 9 hours so this was okay for what we needed. The room was clean but tatty which if might have annoyed us in different circumstances There was no bin, tea / coffee facilities, the toilet seat was off, the wallpaper was peeling off, the TV wasn't programmed and it's remote was missing and the shower screen was off it's runners. There was a lot of door banging throughout the night. There is no parking on site so you have to park in the street and it feels like a dodgy area. If like us you need somewhere cheap and clean to stay in an emergency and aren't fussed with it being tatty this is okay.

I wouldn't stay again

The room was outed, stunk of damp, paid extra for double bed but was unusable as mattress was very uncomfortable luckily the single bed in the room was usable, cleaniness wasnt the best hairs in the shower, rubbish in the drawers, bedside table falling apart, room was freezing electric radiator on the wall that didnt warm up the room i wouldn't stay again
1-night trip

4/10 Fair

You get what you pay for.

Be aware that there is no parking at this hotel, whilst it says street parking the local residents park everywhere and block off spots in front of their houses, so you have to drive around a bit to find a spot and its all hills so having to walk your bags back up is a bit tiresome. Check in process was easy and straightforward. The room itself was very small for 2 people but manageable. One of the beds was comfortable enough but the other was very uncomfortable. There was a surprise in the bathroom with padded toilet seats, never in my life have I seen that before! Our major issue was the temperature, it was freezing and for the life of us we couldn't get the 1 radiator to work, admittedly we didn't go and ask for it to be looked at. We also had a surprise fire alarm go off at 7:30am on Sunday morning, no idea if it was an accident or a drill, no one came to check on us or inform us what was going on. There is a back entrance for late night returns to the hotel, we came across a homeless guy who tried to gain entry with us. So there is a slight security issue with that. Overall if it is a cheap, somewhere to lay your head down at night hotel you need them it does the job, but it isn't somewhere I would recommend.
