Our room was in front of linens storage. Probably if the staffs leave the door open, an alarm rings. One night the alarm was kept going hours. It was annoying. And the swimming pool is small. Except for these, the stay at Hompton was quite amusing. Staffs are really friendly. Great Viva Foodcourt is right in front

Gd location, view, gd free breakfast but room furniture wearing out - need urgent replacements. TV only has 1 English Channel - AXN. Movies via scanning the Roomie app doesn’t work. Parking for big cars a big challenge up the multi storey carpark. Front Security staff helpful in securing parking in front of hotel for my MPV.

Reasonable, clean and comfortable hotel

Comfortable, clean and practically located near the town end - accessible to bus routes, eateries (behind Viva food court). Some areas are obviously well worn but there is a programme of maintenance. Service is prompt. Any issues are resolved with a smile. Reasonable food and beverage prices. Small pool crowded during weekends and holidays - not sure how clean the pool water is as many people are swimming in the water fully clothed. Very noisy. I avoided using it. There is a narrow beach. Of concern are visible open drainage pipes just draining into the beach so unclear how clean the beach is.

The hotel has direct beach access and the view is truly amazing. You literally cannot be closer to the beach. However, I found the property to be very dated and in dire need of a refurbishment. The door frames are peeling, there’s a constant smell of smoke in the corridors and the soft furnishings have clearly been overused. In addition, the housekeeping is very hit and miss - we had to call on several occasions as they did not come to our room. Another thing that might not be the hotel’s fault, but I found the pool unusable. It might be because of the clientele of the hotel (although it is not cheap), but the pool etiquette of guests is very poor and there is no staff oversight. For instance, the pool chairs were all taken up by fully dressed men on their phones and ogling at the women. People were going into the pool with a full face of make up and outside clothes. It was very disappointing for me to not be able to swim but I just felt too uncomfortable. I think the hotel needs a refurbishment and rebrand so it can make use of its wonderful location and attract a different clientele.
