The staff on reception in the day from 9 were really great , the two young lads that we’re working on reception couldn’t be more helpful. It’s a nice hotel but definitely needs updating like some of the others have already been in the Britannia chain. I had breakfast on the first morning but was disappointed so did not on the second, the room was basic, comfortable but didn’t have a plug for the bath so had to use the soap and the room looked tired and in need of a paint job. The two reception staff saved this review really as they were lovely and friendly

Great Location, Stunning Views, and Excellent Staf

⸻ Great location with a stunning view of the river, and a beautiful little park and village nearby with lovely architecture. It’s only about a 25-minute walk from Waverley Station, which was very convenient. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful – from the reception desk to the cleaning staff, everyone was excellent. The hotel itself was very clean and we had a really good stay. Some areas, such as the toilets, are starting to look a little dated, but overall it was well kept and spotless. Absolutely satisfied with the experience and would happily stay again.

8/10 Very good

Room was nice but very hot and window over front entrance was noisy. It was priced well for a last minute over nighter on our trip.
Brandon, 1-night trip

Older hotel but had a good atmosphere.. they have a breakfast and dinner buffet that has many items .. Staff were very helpful to make sure our stay was enjoyable.

They didn’t clean our room, there weren’t any towels when we arrived and they didn’t change them, there wasn’t any hot water for the first night, some of the staff were rude
Francesca, 3-night trip

2/10 Poor

Staff were really poor. First person gave me a key to someone else’s room, fortunately they weren’t in when I opened the door. Second staff member wouldn’t change my address on invoice.

David at the desk was exceptional. He went above and beyond when a cab didn’t turn up on time….thank you thank you
Wendy, 4-night trip

2/10 Poor

The worst hotel we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many over the years! It was dirty, shabby and outdated and the customer service of staff is non existent. Never ever again and I pity anyone staying in this hell hole. Moving onto another hotel to get a shower as we wouldn’t take our shoes off in the disgusting bathroom! AVOID at all costs!

The hotel services the room every 7 days unless you pay extras. There was no toiletries, the decor was tired, staff in need of training on what good customer service looks like. and cleaniness was definitely dubious.

Room was fine. All staff were not a bit friendly, no smiling or friendliness, really need some training in this area. Outside was tired and needs sorting out

Very good

The stay was very pleasant; the room was spacious, beautiful, and bright. The bed was very comfortable. It was nice to find a kettle and cups to make tea, along with some typical biscuits. The only thing that could be improved is the cleanliness, but overall, it was excellent.
