Hotel Riu Palace Mauritius - All Inclusive - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"Buffet is sensational.
Elite club menu good but could maybe have a bit more choice.
All pools are very clean. Only thing it lacks is a jacuzzi.
Staff can't do enough for you, all extremely polite.
Some drinks service at the beach would be nice. Maybe just for elite club? "
"Room was perfect with lovely sea views and a large bathroom with a bath with sea views - bathroom does need a little updating but we didn't notice it.
Location of hotel was excllent with beautiful views of Le Morne and the lagoon"
"From check in to the first night, the rating was 0/10. There was an issue with the room assigned to us and were told by a member of staff , that is your room. When the night manager was made aware of the problem, he started the ball rolling to provide an alternate room. Next morning, I was impressed that both the manager and assistant manager, took charge of the problem and relocated us to a different upgraded room. From then on it was 10/10. Room was clean, spacious, grounds very well maintained, breakfast and dinner buffets offered plenty of varied dishes. Well kept swimming pools, including an adult only one. Plenty of non motorised water equipment and an added bonus is that they offer free boat trips to a great snorkelling area, as well as free glass bottom boat trips. Dining and housekeeping staff all very friendly but special thanks to Vu, Vishay, and Stephan in conjunction with the Manager for making it such a enjoyable stay."
"We had a magical stay at this beautiful hotel. The staff are all so friendly, helpful and kind and went above and beyond to make our stay so special. The rooms, grounds and pool are stunning and the food was delicious."
"Locations was good, room was clean, but lots of ants and lizards around the rooms, staff were friendly, but lots of restrictions, my daughter came to visit I paid extra charges for few hours, food was included in our package but they charge for water and all other non alcoholic beverages"
"The welcome at Awali was excellent. The all inclusive starts when you arrive regardless of check-in time and it ends when you leave even if you checked out the room hours before. This worked quite well for us as our flight left at 9pm. The concierge is a gem who makes things so easy to do and has really good communication. The restaurants were fab.
I did take heed of previous reviews and brought sea shoes which helped us enjoy the beach much more than we would otherwise. The beach is more for snorkelling and seeing wildlife than playing in the waves.
The rooms are cleaned and checked multiple times per day.
The Boma is a must experience. I also used the sunset on the golf course experience and it was as wonderful as you would expect. The staff go above and beyond and they are all super friendly.
We used the spa and although a bit pricey offered fantastic massages and the use of the steam room. I definitely recommend.
The only downside is that they need to increase the staff by the pool bar as it takes a long time to get orders in."
"This hotel is not comparable to other options in Mauritius for the price - it is of much lower quality than the price and photos suggest. The level of attention to detail is poor. Rooms are not cleaned properly with hard to reach places gathering cobwebs, the bathrooms are old and tired, and there is a general lack of attention to detail throughout such as not having mosquito screens and not having the AC on for when you check in. The staff are nice but their initial reaction is always to say no to your request, before then attempting to accommodate you, a small point perhaps but when added together with the other factors you really start to notice it. You can find much better value for money elsewhere. Key point to note is that every night they have an extremely loud show/performance until late where you can hear the music no matter where you are in the hotel - this vibe will suit some people but others looking for a quiet time should avoid. All in all it reminded me of a premium hostel rather than a hotel, not what we were expecting for the price."
