Having stayed at Grand Banyan in Tainan the night before for a similar price, this CheckInn is just ok. Clean, but starting to show its age. Staff was friendly and overall a nice place to stay, but I’d look for a better value next time.

We only stayed here one night for a short stop in Taichung. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and smelled good. We stayed in the executive room which had an onsen (type) bath on the balcony, it was such a nice experience, it felt very luxurious. Definitely recommend staying here if you're in Taichung! The hotel is also conveniently close to the station, only a ten minute walk.

Amazing Hotel

We arrived early from Taichung HSR around 2, check in only after 3pm. Check in is fast with front office assistance. Hotel is beautiful, but room are not big. Front office staffs are courteous and provided us the taxi bookings for sun moon lake, zhongshe garden and Alishan. Hotel is neaby Yizhong Night market, walking distance to Miyahara Ice Cream.

Loved the room configuration. Comfortable bed and comforters. Clean. Easy check-in. Close to Whisker cafe. Staff were nice and easy to work with (just remember this isn't a 5-star hotel, so don't expect 5-star service). We enjoyed our stay. Only con is the w/c could use more ventilation. It had a musty smell. Overall, the hotel room was very clean. Would stay here again.

Stayed here for two nights. Hotel is in a great location and is walkable to everywhere in Taichung. Located in close proximity to the Taichung TRA. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Taichung.

I checked in very late and my Expedia information didn’t work so I had to use the help phone at the self checking. If you will check in after hours ask them for their confirmation number in advance to save some time. They did get me checked in quickly though. I stayed in the executive suit on the 8th floor. The room was comfortable. The bed was soft and the temperature (April) was good. It seemed clean. The toilet is fancy. There is a sticker on the door that says to scan for WiFi but it doesn’t actually show the WiFi info. The info is on the phone and when you turn on the tv. There’s news channels in English too which is nice. The room is not soundproof. You can hear other guests in the hall, the person above you and traffic, even with earplugs. The bathtub on the patio is nice but bring a swimsuit. The neighbor patio can look in and people from the opposite building too, while you are standing. Also consider mosquitoes, thus don’t leave the door open. Last I did not enjoy the breakfast place they give you a coupon for. I got nauseas after both days of eating there so I skipped day 3.
