We were made to feel very welcome on our arrival at this small family run hotel. Our balcony room had an amazing view over the bay. The pool, although a bit chilly at this time of year, was an added bonus for a town hotel. The hotel was extremely well managed and clean and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet had a good choice of food. It is true that it would not be suitable for people with mobility issues as there are a lot of steps in the hotel and certainly a challenging walk up the hill to reach the hotel from the town or bus stop. But you can easily walk into the main town in 10-15 minutes or Megali Ammos beach, with its beach bars and restaurants. And you do get used to the climb!! There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets close by. The hotel served both the usual snack food and home cooked delicious Thai food.

Deserves an extra star!

Up a small hill off the main strip, but just a 5 min walk to bus stop 4, and what a view from the hotel. The pizza was so good, I ordered the same one 2 evenings in a row and had to do the same with one of their smoothies! Not quite sure how the hotel is rated a 2 star - it's a solid 3 star in my book!

Hotel Rene is a great place to stay for a vacation in Skiathos, a family run hotel by owners Anatase& Mod, who made me feel so welcome and we’re very helpful throughout my stay. This hotel provided great hospitality and has real family warmth about it, with amazing sea views in every room and excellent cleanliness, great breakfast, not to forget to mention delicious home made tai meals the hotel has to offer, with a good size swimming pool, and just approx 10mins walk away from nearest beach , made my stay there wonderful. I found hotel Rene online and it looked to good to be true but in fact it was!!! The staff is amazing and super attentive to everyone’s needs. Each morning we were served an INCREDIBLE breakfast by the water. The pool overlooking the sea is beautiful and never gets old. Our room was clean and had a beautiful porch with a place to hang our wet clothes and sit down. The bed was incredibly comfortable and they provided us with many extra blankets to make us feel at home. Sitting by the pool we ordered a great lunch and drinks and felt like we could stay there all day. It is only a 10 minute walk into town and provides a sanctuary from the busy town. While the walk was short, it is definitely steep so good to bring sneakers. All together, absolute paradise. Highly recommend.

We booked this property for end of September 2024 based on the reviews we read and we liked the look of the pool area. We was not disappointed. The staff were excellent and every request was met with a speedy response and the hotel was very clean. The pool was great with stunning views. However, to have these views you have to be prepared to climb some hills. Yes it was hard work but well worth the effort as the view is simply beautiful. It was around a10min walk into Skiathos town which is easy as downhill and about 5mins to the small beach with its lovely Tavernas. In the evenings we would get a taxi back from the town which cost around 10 euros from the harbour. We had breakfast included and it was basic and was served in the breakfast room. Coffee was great. The pool bar was limited but reasonably priced. Food was great offering a fantastic Thai menu and the usual salads, burgers and snacks you would expect. In summery, this was great value and very relaxing. We will definitely be returning and special thanks to the team for looking after us so well.

We chose Hotel Rene as it looked more our style, a bit more relaxed and a homely feel. Our instinct was right. What a wonderful hotel, small, charming, good amenities and wonderful owners and staff. They could not do more to help if they tried. Exactly what we wanted and needed. We really enjoyed sitting on our balcony taking in the excellent view, chilling by the nicely sized pool (reasonsbly rare in Skiathos town). It is a short walk to the beach (5-10mins), and also very quick to town (10-15mins depending where you want to go). The bus stop is just at the bottom of the road to explore the island (very convenient), and right next to that is the Super Market for anything you might need. That being said the Hotel also has a reasonably priced store for any food, water or other drinks you might need. I would definitely look at staying here again when visiting Skiathos. You may have noticed others saying the hotel is situated on top of a hill, the upside of this - great views and a very easy walk to town or the beach! The downside is of course coming back. I must say if you are of low-moderate fitness (like me) this should be manageable for most people. It is 2-3 minutes of a steep up hill then you're done. If you have mobility issues it may not be advisable, but taxis will take you from the town for 10€. Please don't let this put you off, but you should be aware of it. It didn't worry us, and we did not regret it our choice!

We stayed here for a week. Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. Room was a good size, clean with a comfy bed and a good shower. The pool area was great, was always able to get a sunlounger even later on in the day. The hotel is in a great location and just a short walk to the town and a beach nearby. Bus stop 5 mins away to take you all.over the island.
