had one of the worst hotel experiences ever at the Budget Inn in St. Augustine. I booked ONE night, but for some reason the system showed TWO nights in two different rooms. When I tried to explain the situation to the person in charge, he was extremely rude and dismissive. He literally told me he didn’t care, that it wasn’t his problem, and that I had to call Hotels.com myself because he “couldn’t do anything” and was now “stuck with the extra room.” Completely unprofessional.
After having to chat with Hotels.com, the agent told me it would be difficult to get a refund, but thankfully they processed it anyway. Still, this should have been handled at the front desk instead of me dealing with all the stress.
The room itself was clean, but the shower was clogged and filled up with water, which made the stay uncomfortable and unpleasant. Between the horrible customer service and the maintenance issues, I will NEVER stay here again and do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.
