Friendly and functional place to stay

Well kept and very friendly and helpful service. This is absolutely on older, vintage motel, but they clearly make an effort to keep it clean and provide for the essentials. Would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel

Very clean staff. Unfortunately the remote for the ac/ heater was missing and we had to climb on a chair to be able to turn it on and set the temp. They didn't have a replacement. That was the only issue. I would definitely stay again.

Very Nice

The hotel is conveniently located near the National Park, as well as restaurants and grocery shopping. The hotel staff was super friendly and very accommodating to our needs. When there was a cancellation mix-up, Andrea was kind enough to call us while we were in the park and clear it up, rather than assuming we cancelled. I would highly recommend the Saddle and Surrey to anyone looking for a visiting the National Park who is visiting the area.

Saddle and Surrey did not have a room with a kitchen reserved for us the first night of our stay. They said they were not aware that this is what was requested. They said this sometimes happens when customers book through hotels.com. They got us a room with a kitchen for the next night for a small upcharge.

Although our room (No. 23 - 2 queen beds with kitchen) was spacious and peaceful with comfortable beds, it was poor in many other respects. First of all there were a number of outstanding maintenance issues - e.g non working lights, a partially broken gas hob and kitchen tap spraying water. We alerted management to all of these shortcomings on our departure (see photo) in the hope that they would be addressed ahead of the next guests occupying that room. More generally, the room and its furnishings were tired and would benefit from upgrading - eg stained carpet, old curtains, pillows without protector covers. Finally the room was not clean - e.g. the kitchen floor was dirty, the cutlery drawer was dirty. This was the worst accommodation by a significant margin that we encountered during our 4+ week road trip in which we stayed in 11 different properties.

Nice stay at the Saddle & Surrey

Great location near several entrances to Rocky Mountain National Park and to Estes Park. Our room was clean, and the staff was friendly and responsive to our requests. We would definitely stay at the S&S again.

This was a quaint facility, convenient to the town of Estes Park. The staff was pleasant, considerate and helpful. The proximity to highway 7 is pretty close allowing for quite a bit of traffic noise but it didn’t seem to be too much of an issue after midnight. Comfortable beds and nice, clean rooms made this a nice stay!

The motel is old but it is well maintained. It is out of town a mile or so, which was nice. The highway is not very busy so it is fairly quiet and peaceful. The family that runs it does a good job. Breakfast was very minimal but then coffee was good. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

I liked that it was moderately priced. The interior of the room was ok but I had to go to the office for soap and someone had pulled the cable away from the cable box so they were not able to fix that and we had no TV. Definitely no frills motel.

This is a classic 1950s/1960s style motel. Some of the decor is still from that era. Our room was spacious and clean and quiet—no complaints. The continental breakfast is a joke, consisting of two types of breakfast cereal (no milk), coffee, and mini croissants. The room’s heating/cooling unit doesn’t work that well and it’s pretty loud.

Friendly staff

The room was mostly comfortable but the coffee pot didn’t work and even if it had worked there was no sugar, creamer or anything like that. Hotel is older and outdated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I think there was a litter box somewhere in the front office because it smelled like cat urine

The property was very outdated with the furniture in the rooms. The light switches didn't work in either of our two rooms. The TV was not working in one of our rooms. Breakfast was available (cereal), but we left early before it was available. I feel that this property rating provided by others is NOT accurate and that this hotel is more around a $120 per night for the area and not over $200 per night.
