10/10 Exceptional

The location was awesome, the reception gentleman was super helpful an d the room was really clean. Don't let the rundown, but charming, outside fool you. A great place to stay.

Weather was amazing, and the room was nice and comfortable. I only stayed one night, but it was a good experience, would recommend.

6/10 Good

Great little place to stay for the night. Only downside was there wasn’t an AC/fan in the room.
Mari, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The location is nearly perfect! The rate was incredible. The only thing that wasn’t ideal was the lack of A/C but we knew that going in. The service was great. The room was nice and clean. Literally across the street from the lake shore and a little park. Would definitely recommend!

Cozy & inexpensive

Musician staying in town for a wedding gig. Place was cozy...a little traffic noise but worked well for us.
James, 2-night trip

Pretty good deal, for the area

I liked that it was in a really nice area, the beach was right across the street and was not busy. The room was pretty clean. It wasn’t the nicest place but I slept pretty comfortable, I wish they had ac . Overall I think for the price it was reasonable and we would actually go back . Thanks.
Angela, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The room smelled like a dog kennel! It was horrible. The only plus side was location. They never offered clean sheets or towels, we had to ask. Future guests need to bring some nice smelling candles or a diffuser to use 24/7 to help with the smell. Theres also no ice machine or coffee pot. Thankfully 7-11 store is next door. The bathroom shower door would not stay closed, you had to hold it closed. That was annoying. Again, LOCATION is fabulous but the room is OLD and feels "icky" when you're in the room. We had to stay because we had our two dogs, but even they left smelling disgusting! The owner Ed is very nice. But maybe have some smelly plug-ins in the walls. There was also no plugs near bedside tables so you had to use bathroom plug or the one near tv and dresser across the room. We may return, without our pets, but we will definitely bring room spray and lysol.

Awesome location. Public beach right across street. 7/11 right next door. This’ll be my go to spot going forward.

Simple motel, great location.

Great location, close to lake access, restaurants and 7-11. The room was basic. Thin walls, could hear the neighbor snoring all night. Never got the wifi to work.

There wasn't an ice machine. The toilet chain broke the first day. The pillows and beds were hard and flat. There were ants in the bathroom and the shower was small. The owner was nice and fixed the toilet right away.
Sandra, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Ed was very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. The room was much bigger than we expected, and had a microwave and mini fridge. It's right across from a public beach and pier which was beautiful, there is also a restaurant. We also enjoyed the cafe down the street for breakfast. Great proximity to Northstar, we will definitely stay here again!

Hidden gem. Will stay here again.

This is a hidden gem. Yes, it was outdated BUT given that I started coming to Tahoe in the early 80s, I actually really appreciated the older vibe. When I arrived the keys (actual keys) were waiting for me on the office and I was able to let myself in. I loved that. The room was tidy and clean. This place is DIRECTLY across from one of the last open access beaches on the north side of the lake AND it was right next door to several great dining options. I also loved that the 7/11 was next door so I could easily get drinks and snacks. As someone who loves to run, it was easy to find a trail in the neighborhood behind the lodge. Lastly, I loved the homey vibe. It was perfect for me as a solo traveler but I could also stay here with my husband and dogs.

Great value

Great value! Really liked the size of the place, would definitely stay again (though if you have a dust allergy/are sensitive, you'll definitely feel it, the place was clean but a friend with dust problems was coughing all night)
