Not your average hotel

The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.

This was a really lovely hotel! Nice and quiet on a good amount of land. I will definitely stay here again in the future. I will try their restaurant next time. I didn’t get to do that this time around.
Susan, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Not up to par.

Just my hubby and me for a quick overnight stay since we have just moved and he had a doctors appointment. We had stayed there several years ago when it was under another name. We thought we’d try it. Seems like the decor was out of the 50’s. And well worn.
Joyce, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

I ended up choosing not to stay there. There were maybe 8 cars in the parking lot. I arrived at 3pm, was told my room was ready but that I would be charged $50 to check in any earlier than 4pm. There was no music playing in the lobby, no one walking about the property....it was a very bizarre atmosphere.

The room was extremely spacious and very quiet. Nice areas in the hotel to socialize in with friends. Restaurant was excellent!

Impressed

Our visit was not planned. Got a good rate and wow was this place special. The room was huge with a separate porch. Had a sitting area, full length mirror, wonderful shower/tub. We walked the grounds to the indoor pool. Warm wonderful clean pool and hot tub in this separate building. Breakfast in the library was a nice continental style with an added egg quiche like dish. All staff good too

2/10 Poor

Heat didnt work in my room nor did half the lights. Tried to deny me bringing my service animal without paying a $150 pet fee.Bar employers were only interested in talking to each other. Front staff poorly trained. Week later and the manager is still avoiding me.
Kevin, 4-night trip

8/10 Very good

This property was beautiful, full of character and charm! The woodwork is lovely. Quiet resort full of beauty. Only things that needed worked on here were the moisture issue in the room with humidity level too high on the ac and in the bathroom with no fan. Cute little yellow sofa in room is dirty on arms. The rooms are very large though and just full of so much charm! Lighting needs improved as well. We didn’t eat at the restaurant on site but it looked very nice. Highly recommend this property though.

Very nice

Overall we had a great stay, we really enjoyed having a nice soaking tub in our room and having the pool and hot tub area basically to ourselves at times. Only hiccup we had was first night we checked in it was rainy day and half the building lost power, but we still had some lights and the staff offered flashlights, however the air did not come back on till morning, luckily it was only in the late 60s and early 70s temperature wise. That aside we had a relaxing and refreshing trip.

Close getaway worth extra small extra cost

Needed some quiet time away. Nice and quiet hotel with great little touches like soaking tubs and super comfortable beds and pillows. Nothing super fancy and clearly a little dated but the environment screams comfort and old money. Clearly in its time this place would be a place only wealthy could afford but now its a place where working people can get some comfort, relaxation, and great environment (spa, pool, walking and outdoor spaces) in close prominity to our regular busy lives. Could be a great work conference place or like me a little get away from normal life.

6/10 Good

Have been going to this property for many years and unfortunately it has declined immensely. It is in the process of a management transition so I am hoping for better days to come and will give it another try as it has the potential to be great again.
