Love this place

This hotel is close to our office so is ideally placed. This is my 9th stay at this hotel and always book here when I stay business or pleasure. The rooms are really nice and comfortable. The showers are fantastic. The big bonus for me is the 6 x 11kw Eon EV charging stations on the carpark.

This property is set within an industrial estate across from the Aztec Hotel & Spa. You check in via the pub/restaurant next door called the Black Sheep. The supervisor was great & very accommodating to my daughter who is a wheelchair user. Room was excellent, quiet & clean. Great base for touring the area around, as long as you have transport. Would highly recommend & would definitely stay again if in the area.

Better than expected

Excellent location easy to find. We arrived at midnight after a concert in Cardiff. The night were very helpful and even served us with a bottle of wine & glasses to take to our room. Our room was of a much better standard than we were expecting too

Would definitely stay here again. Although close to Bristol, it was lovely and quiet. We wanted a twin room really but one was not available so booked a family room. Unfortunately the second bed hadnt been made up when we arrived but as soon as we brought it to the attention of staff, it was sorted out. Cafe /bar next door, ideal for a quiet drink and breakfast in the morning. Staff were really friendly and helpful. An ideal place for overnight stop off.

This hotel is a smaller hotel building linked to the Aztec main hotel over the road. You check in at the Aztec, this took a while I was probably waiting about 10mins to check in, initially I was told I could not check in early so I had to go and wait in my car. On entry to the Lodge it seemed clean and tidy in the main areas, the room itself was decorated nicely with good tea and coffee, hair dryer, TV etc. the bed was comfortable and shower was definitely the best thing about the hotel, super powerful. The main let down for this hotel is how noisy everything is, I could hear every door close in the vicinity of my room especially the bedroom doors being big and heavy, I could hear a baby crying in a neighbouring room, I could hear the person shower upstairs with the water making lots of noise from my room. I stay in a lot of hotels with work and personal travel, and this was probably the least sound-proofed room I have ever stayed in. It's a real shame because the rest of the hotel was nice and for only around £40 for the night I stayed I hate to complain. But unfortunately due to this I would not stay again.

Internet service was poor, only do continental breakfast, and no air condition in the room. Room lighting wasn't good and the tv remote guide of what to watch didn't work

We had two family rooms , both had defects. Room 24 had musty damp smell and shower didn’t work properly. Room 38 had broken window blind , we were moved to room 37, which had uncomfortable sofa bed for two children to share. One slept on floor for part of night(10yrs old). Room was small for a family of 4. We were given a discount on breakfast to compensate for the broken shower room 24

Very comfortable stay

This hotel room was very nice with a very comfortable bed. It wasn't too spacious but ample for what we needed it for. The shower was really powerful with lots of really hot water, probably the best I've had in a hotel room. However, the sealant round the bottom of the walk in shower could do with a spray of bleach as there was some black and pink mould. The towels were fluffy and large. A nice touch was the little night light in the bathroom to save you putting the big light on in the middle of the night. Tea and coffee and even a cafetiere with some ground coffee too. Not many sachets of milk however, I got a jugful of fresh milk from reception instead. We did have a problem with the venetian blind which fell off the brackets when we tried to pull it up as we wanted to open the window. My husband managed to get it back onto the brackets but the blind wouldn't pull down fully. A little bit of maintenance will sort that though. All in all a really good stay, especially as they were redeemed free nights with Hotels.com. I would recommend and definitely would stay there again.

The Night potter wasn't helpful. Didn't give proper directions to get to the room. We arrived by 8 pm but the room wasn't ready which was okay as the lady receptionist was nice. She advised us the night potter would make up our room. We arrived later and check in with him. He just gave us the keys, didn't tell us where the room was. We proceed to wonder around trying to find our room. So we asked him on the way, he said take a left at the door and it is just there. And that he had told me earlier. I felt it was my mistake and apologised. When i asked my wife she said he did jot twll us where the room was in the first place. I let it go and proceed to the door and took a left as he told me and we reached a first floor and still couldn't find it. So we went back to the reception with our luggage to tell him that we couldn't find the room. He then said you got to go out of the main door , cross the road and go to the building to the left which isn't what he told us the first time too.my 7 year old son felt that the receptionist was a bit rude and wasn't interested in helping. He could have clearly told us that we had to exit the building and get into the road in the first place. This is not what you expect after travelling 7 hours. Nice property but would not recommend due to the service received. The Morning reception/manager was great very helpful as he had to cut 2 new keys as the 1st ones were made just for 1 night though we booked a 2 night stay.

Room let down an amazing hotel!

When we arrived to check in we were told our room had been double booked. The girl at the desk was very helpful and apologetic (checkin at aztec hotel and spa across the road). She said she would "upgrade us" to one of their hotel rooms with no extra charge, and gave us free parking and a bogof for breakfast, which was very much appreciated! The service was fantastic. We were given room 126 in the aztec hotel and spa, as the lodge that we booked our room in was full. When we entered the room. It was VERY old and dated and had a very musty smell. The room was large with a desk, bathroom, tv and sofa.the furniture was old, dusty and dated. The bathroom was very old, had rust on the rings that held the shower curtain. Dirty marks on the bath & taps. Mildew on the bath. It was late when we arrived so we just got into bed. (which was comfortable and clean thankfully!) The breakfast in the morning was fantastic, staff were wonderful and attentive. When i looked on the website at pictures of the rooms, they were lovely ! The room we stayed in didnt seem to be pictured. The hotel and spa, food and staff were all so fantastic. But they were heavily let down by the poor quality of room 126!!.( i feel the double room i had originally paid for at the bristol lodge looked so much nicer and cleaner in the pictures i saw on their website). I would actually stay at the aztec hotel and spa again. But would definitely ask for one of the rooms pictured on the website!
