Great location

The hotel is in a great location and walking distance to a number of the major tourist destinations, and has an MRT station on the doorstep. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The building is historic and very interesting. The only downside for us was the number of levels (a.k.a. steps) in the building as we are an older couple.

This place is special. Being attached to an authentic heritage Chinese temple and with charming artifacts, this site is unique. Added to this, the staff, the location and the amenities are all excellent and make this a real Singapore experience, unlike the many big, anonymous hotels where you could be anywhere. Great location, good value

I stayed here for a few days for a conference and wanted something central but easy to get around. The hotel is close to Telok Ayer and Raffles Place MRT stations. There are lots of eating and drinking options around - Lau Pa Sat food court is only a couple of blocks away. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is served in a cafe behind the hotel, that offers several good options. The decor is a mix of traditional and modern. Room was small but well laid out, modern and clean.

Kudos to the excellent service level of the staff. Their hospitality makes one feel very welcome and comfortable. It should be noted that the property is integrated into an old Chinese building. The resulting inclined slopes and stairs within the walkway suggest that it may not be so suitable for elderly. Additionally, my room faced a nightlife area and the noise may impact more sensitive guests. Nevertheless, the service level of the staff was enough for me to still consider it an incredible stay.
