Secluded and serene, this beautiful property was the perfect choice for our trip. Staff was helpful and friendly, breakfast was outstanding, and grounds are just gorgeous. I highly recommend!

Quaint place to stay in historic mansion.

Interesting, old facility (originally was mansion of Lloyd George, English PM in early 1900’s). Great breakfast!

Hidden Gem, Historic charm with stunning views

We had a lovely stay at Plas Y Bryn Manor. It’s a beautiful old building with lots of character, once home to David Lloyd George, one of the UK’s former prime ministers. From the moment we arrived, our host gave us a really warm welcome and shared a bit about the history, which made it feel extra special. The breakfast staff were all so friendly and polite. The complementary breakfast was a highlight – it felt really social sitting around a long antique table in the main reception hall. The location is perfect too: peaceful and quiet with stunning mountain views, and you can even see the water in the distance. There’s plenty to do nearby as well. We came for the Menai Food Festival and the next day went cycling around Anglesey, which was brilliant. All in all, it’s a great mix of history, comfort, and incredible scenery – a wonderful spot for a relaxing getaway.

Stay at Plas Y Brynn

Pleasantly situated, nice surroundings. Beautiful interior. It was ran in a laid back, informal style. Room was very clean and comfortable. Lots of hot water. There was no bin though to put the bits of rubbish you accumulate. Friendly staff.

Exterior and entrance very impressive, although does have a difficult access road. Inside was superficially grand. Bedrooms were extremely small and no facilities or TV. On arrival we were greeted by a lady on the phone who continued her chat loudly whilst showing us to our room, there was very little customer care throughout our stay. It is a shame as the venue has great potential to be an exceptional hotel but I will not be going back any time soon.

2/10 Poor

No one to meet us on arrival. Spent 30 mins wandering around the hotel in search of anyone. Finally worked out which was our room by searching on an abandoned laptop and the room was dirty and missing all the essentials in the bathroom. A non speaking English member of staff, who we later bumped into, gave no help about anything we needed.

Please try harder

It was very poor. There was no one to greet us, no reception area and the twin room was cobbled together by splitting a double bed. There was no TV, no kettle, the beds were awful, there was little or no toilet roll in the bathroom. The hanging rail was fitted so poorly that it was impossible to use the only plug in the room! Amazingly there had been fortunes spent on decoration and furnishings throughout the hotel when concentrating on the basics was needed. The breakfast was very limited with a ‘do you want it or not’ approach. All the cereals were supermarket saver brands as was the tea, coffee and juice. Must do better!!!!!

Very,very disappointing

Arrived not good impression rubber jigsaw tiles made up the flooring, shown to the bedroom no carpet on floor and had two single beds the linen of which was different on each bed,one of the fitted sheets had blood on it had to ask for that to be changed no hand towels just bath ones accompanied by two small bottles of shampoo no hand soap.Doubt very much if the bathroom had been cleaned has half a bottle of shampoo was still in the shower cubicle from previous occupants.Only one tv in the downstairs area which had to be shared with all guests has no tv in rooms and only has one big table in the dining area .View from our room overlooked the back yard which had old tables and old fridge freezers unit all in all not impressed in fact was prepared to leave straight away and look for somewhere else but wife prevailed and we stayed.Must say it was more like a hostel then a hotel

Hotel was nice, but check in was atrocious

Ive never experienced a stay like this in all my years of travel. We arrived at the hotel to find it in total darkness. We managed to locate a side entrance marked Reception, only to discover Reception doesn't actually exist any more. Along with two other couples we had to try and find our way around. I then tried 8 times to phone a contact number (and have screenshot this for clarity) given on the booking email only to get no reply. This is at 8.45 pm, so not ridiculously late. We then came across another couple who explained all the rooms have keys in in the doors, you just let yourselves in. Which we all did. Fifteen minutes later, I received a phone call from a man telling me he was the property manager. When i explained the situation, he was quite sharp, telling me you cant just pick a room. Well, im very sorry but if you had a system that explained exactly how you recieved your room munber more clearly this situation would never have arisen for us or the other guests on that evening. After a six hour drive the last thing anyone needs are complications at the booked accommodation.

Must do better!

Location to Canaervon is great, 10 minutes drive. Driveway tricky if the neighbours don't make the entrance tighter than it already is. No one on property on arrival, I had to call the 'receptionist' who talked me through getting my room key. At night you need a code to enter. Manor is cold so is the Annexe. No Tv in the room makes it feel like a hostel. Sounds petty but when you are in the middle of nowhere, a shared TV, shuffle board and fussball does not make up for it. Service levels are not what you expect and the level of English is good, not great. This place has some great features but overall it just makes you feel disappointed as it could be so much more.

Not the best and was very expensive

No one staying in hotel yet your site said there were limited rooms. Literally no one else in hotel. Sheets had stains on them. Bread was stale at breakfast. Cooked breakfast was all microwaved not freshly cooked. The hotel in general looked liked it needed refurbishment.

Would definitely stay again

I stayed in the main house and really enjoyed my time there. Communication before my arrival was good and I was welcomed by Steve when I arrived at reception Friday afternoon, my room was clean, tidy with fresh towels and soap/shampoo etc. etc. There was a group of people there who'd obviously booked to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, this place is ideal if you're looking to do something similar, loads of room, a barbeque, outside seating. Breakfast I skipped on both days as I was having an early lunch, but the food looked delicious. Forgive my spelling, 'Lowsee' at reception was very helpful, nice to see such happy staff.

The stay starteThe roomwas clean and warm the bathroom was nice and modern. But unfortunately the main light kept coming on and off so I decided to just use the wall lights. Breakfast was OK not to my liking but I’m not a breakfast person

A hotel that felt a little deserted . No Tv or tea & coffee tray in the room which was very small. Few staff and rarely seen. This hotel does have potential.

Plas Y Bryn manor Hotel has sadly passed its hay day . On arrival it feels sad and run down . This stunning building is full of cheap interiors and lacks any soul . Arriving in our room ..there was a horrible smell . Beds very narrow ..not worth the money Im sad to say . I do wish them well as the property its self is lovely .

Unpleasant stay

The room was tiny and unpleasant, nothing like the spacious one seen on the website. The only positive was that the shower was very good and the bed quite comfortable. The remainder were in he negative. Not a pleasant stay for me.
As found when first arrived
No headboard and flaky paint dust everywhere. Very must smell when trying to sleep
