Quaint fun place!

Quaint place with wonderful service. They even did a load of laundry for us. They let us play darts in the bar when it wasn’t open and were always so cheery!

Built in 1868. Beautiful original condition with great wood work by skilled craftsmanship. Not staffed 24 hours, but staff will help when asked 24/7. Food available with a short walk down the street

Would definitely recommend!

We had a great stay! Lovely staff, clean rooms, beautiful building. The inn is old but they have made amazing modern improvements! Also dog friendly!

Gorgeous property. Friendly staff. Quiet except the upstairs neighbors had squeaky floor boards and were up walking around from 5-8 am and we couldn't sleep. Bar on main floor is beautiful but not open very long. The bartender Bill makes the best old fashioned. Clean. Very comfortable bed. Jetted tub was amazing. Would definitely stay there again.
Rachael, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Dated and disorganized also in disrepair. Kind of a gross place. Rarely a front desk attendant and the rooms are sparsely furnished. Very noisy place but it’s very old.

Old hotel charm. One of the best historic hotels I’ve stayed in with no exception. Fantastic

Historic Hotel: Doesn’t Offer Much Beyond History

It’s an old hotel with some modern upgrades. Rooms are very spacious and bed was comfortable. Services and amenities were pretty lackluster. We only saw someone at the front desk once. In room amenities were a bar of soap and a shampoo/conditioner combo. Bar was never open when we were there despite their business hours saying they should have been. Still had Christmas decor up which is petty but c’mon, it’s April.

6/10 Good

Beautiful building and large rooms. However you can hear everything your neighbors do. There is no staff after 8 so if you need a blanket or ice you are out of luck. The bed sheets didn’t fit the bed and we sweat our butts off as you cannot turn the air down to cool off the room.
Melessa, 3-night trip

Honeymoon Room was very disappointing. Terrible views out window and room was big but not comfortable.
Jerry, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The historic hotel was very nice but there is very limited parking, no room amenities. The telelvision is in a poor spot and the channels seem like they work off of wifi which was sparce. You have to go places for any food, and the town shuts down so good luck. You have to ask the front desk for ice, and it better be before 8pm. For the cost, i won't stay there again. The room was big, but had very little furniture. But.. the jacuzzi tub was incredible!! Huge plus!!

Crummy experience

I have stayed at this hotel at least 4 times and it has gone down hill. There are no ice machines, no cups/glasses in the room, there is no staff on site. Our window shades were pulled down and then plastic was over the windows and taped shut with blue painters tape. The regular heating system was not working correctly so there was a space heater in the room and our choices were, "on" or "off" thereby making the room always either too hot or too cold. There was no art work on the walls but there were nails. You have to walk up a high stone step to get into the shower and you can only turn the shower on from being inside of the shower. There are no grab bars. Extremely dangerous. I want my money back.
Jill, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Lovely staff, very friendly. The hotel is from the late 1800's and is a beautiful building. In downtown Mayville, there are a few restaurants, coffee shop, some shopping and even a bowling alley next door. There is a lovely path to walk around the nearby golf course that I did each morning. Cute and quaint little town. The entire town of people are very friendly too. The only hotel downside is that the hotel could use some major renovations. If someone could donate a little time and budget to help restore this place, it would be so amazing.

Love the Audubon!

I booked this stay at the Audubon thinking it would be a nice ending to a trip for a family memorial and it was… very nice. Couldn’t be more pleased with my choice. This is a very lovely hotel and the folks who have been restoring it have done a great job. Should I come by this way again, I won’t hesitate to book a room here. We were received warmly and treated like guests in a home. I would highly recommend the Audubon!!
Fred, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

False advertisement.

Hotel, with a smelly motel vibe. Front desk guy didnt understand english, and had water leaks in the front desk area. Rooms look nothing like the pictures, mattress was from the 70s or 80s with the metal springs, would have killed my back. Very disappointed. I walked right back out, did not stay, will be asking for a refund.
Robert, 1-night trip

Historic Charming Hotel

The staff was extremely friendly. Easy to use the keypad codes to get into the building and your room. Very quiet. Reasonable price. Historic with fixtures that seem original to the hotel. Clean hotel and room. Safe neighborhood. My room was supposed to have a floor length mirror and the reason that I chose the room. However it did not have that mirror. The bed was firm. The hotel had some features that needed updating. For example new grout in the shower, rust on the ceiling in the bathroom. With the charm of the age of the hotel it could use a little bit more renovating to make it truly upscale. For example looking at the design of the rooms to make it more cohesivs and artwork was lacking or not cohesive. The hotel just kind of felt old versus a renovated upscale historic building. Also at night the hotel felt kind of creepy like it was haunted.

10/10 Exceptional

Amanda and Keyu were so nice and accommodating. It was an older building and in some ways it was like going back in time. Don’t expect a perfect modern feel. However do look forward to a really cool experience. It is an 1800’s era hotel that is kept very original. We hosted the wedding party for my daughter’s wedding there on short notice. They opened up the bar and made us feel right at home. The place is under new ownership and they are working diligently to make it something that is even more enjoyable! I think we will go back just to hang out there and see them again.
James, 1-night trip

The rooms do not look like the online pictures at all. The room was so dirty, stains on the sheets, toilet and bathtub so gross, we had no choice but to stay due to our arrival time but had it been earlier we wouldn’t have stayed. This place has so much potential but it needs a lot of work.

A quaint old hotel in a small charming town. Clean and lovely. Not for the Ritz Carlton crowd.
