Perfect Birthday Getaway

I chose Blue Iguana Inn due to my memories of it from when I travelled to Ojai as a kid in the 90s. For the price, it is a very large room with a kitchen area and nice bathroom. The spaciousness was especially valued since I was traveling with my dog. It would be a perfect spot for a couple planning on staying for several nights.

Delightfully quaint inn! We had a 2 bedroom unit. We loaded the fridge with drinks & snacks which we enjoyed in the comfy living room. My bed was heavenly! Front desk helped us with restaurant recommendations. Didn't get a chance to use hot tub. The grounds are very nice. Definitely stay again!

The Blue Iguana was a lovely, serene well-located retreat in Ojai. The room and outdoor areas were great. Our only dissatisfaction came from the lack of wifi and the extremely squishy bed. The bed had the softest topper on it, and I had the hardest time getting comfortable. This might be great for some people's preference, but my back was aching when I awoke. The sweet attendant at the front desk attempted to help with resetting the wifi, but we never were able to connect to the internet. It allowed for a welcome reprieve from use of electronics, but it would have been a big disappointment if I had to get work done.

Unfortunate reservation

We were going to stay here to help my elderly aunt move but then she had to go to hospital the day before our intended stay. We canceled reservation. Knowing it was a non refundable room my husband called explained situation and not only was the front desk rude to him they would not refund. I understand they have rules but no need to be rude about it. The room was not cheap and honestly way overpriced. It was recommended by someone but even when they recommended it prefaced it as being expensive for a not so great place but not many options. We will have to go back but not sure if we will book here. I’m thinking maybe that’s why she thought she could be rude cause it wouldn’t make a difference with their business????
