Very good hotel and convenient as only a 10 min walk to the center of town. One of a few hotels which had A/C and much needed during the hot weather. Offered parking on site for free and had a nice bar. Located on the riverfront and very nice. Didn't have their breakfast as cost but many options in town. Would stay here again and thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Very dark gloomy room! Only two bedside lamps. And the bathroom door is such that when you open or close it maybe the whole hotel can hear it. We also asked for an extra blanket.. it was not possible to get! Only breakfast was good thing in this hotel. That was good.

Acceptable choice if it is a bargain

Ibis is pretty much bargain basement. The location was pretty good and there is a city parking area next to it (be prepared to pay at 9am). Breakfast was better than expected however!

The hotel is quite basic. Mostly clean however the bin in our room hadn’t been emptied and had other peoples rubbish in it, which wasn’t great. It’s a easy 10 minute walk into the town, and has a nice terrace overlooking the river.

The Ibis is well located and has friendly staff and good clean rooms, so a good place to stay for visiting Dinant. Breakfast was also good. Having booked a number of rooms, certainly those on the second floor were very hot with non-functioning airconditioning, so this was not great.

Room was very clean, tidy and spacious but quite dark. I guess it was the very low energy bulbs they use. Loved the shower. Breakfast at €17 a person was too much for us so we went to the local bakery. Free parking right outside was super.

Disappointed

The hotel is ideally situated within the lovely town of Dinant, with easy free car parking next to the hotel. However our stay was spoilt by other guests who were noisy and obviously smoking in the corridor as the smell filled our room. Also the room was cold, the air conditioning did not work, if anything it made it colder!

Booked the hotel for location, not expecting a great deal but in the end, only redeemed by staff. Room, small but adequate, however a slight, 'kitcheney' smell in small wardrobe, not removed by leaving window open. Even more suprising, only two towels for the two of us. Don't know if they expect people to dry their faces on the same towel that they've dried their bodies on but didn't seem very hygienic to us. Asked at reception for extra but they only had one. Admitted that other guests had previously been unhappy about policy. Finally catering poor. Very limited snacks available (basically a couple of things they could microwave). Breakfast equally poor. Appeared not to replenish items (not many options) that had been used. Sorry, realise Ibis is a budget range but to parsimonious in their attitudes for us to consider using again.

You stay here for the location, as it is the only major hotel on the river next to the small historic town and main bridge. It is within walking distance from the train station and they also have a parking lot if you are driving. There is a bar area with a small indoor seating area and a nice, large balcony with seating overlooking the river. Rooms themselves are very basic, which is why they are so inexpensive for such a good location. The room is modest sized with linoleum floors and a small rack with a couple clothes hangers. There is no refrigerator or coffee maker (or microwave, though European hotels seem to not offer microwaves). The room itself is the equivalent of a Motel 6 in the USA, but the lobby area is nicer. Bathroom is shower only (no bathtub) with a flexible hose for handholding. If the bathroom door is turned ninety degrees it fits into a second doorjamb that closes off the main room. Since there is no coffee maker, coffee and tea are available for free from the bar (or included in the low price for the modest breakfast). The only real negative was the ugly color of the room paint: dark green on one wall and light green/gray on the other wall, which is psychologically depressing. If they repainted the walls with beige and off-white it would make the room much more appealing. There is no beating the location, though, and it’s really the only option unless you rent a house or apartment.

24 hours in Dinant

Room was value for money. Perfect for a one night stop over. Hotel staff friendly on check-in. Breakfast was good to have as an option for €17, plenty of options. Loved the waffle maker. A couple of things to note. Our shower fixture did not hold the shower upright, meaning you had to regularly reposition this/ or hand hold. Only one towel provided per person. No hand towels in room. No tea/ coffee facilities in room.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful part of Belgium

Positives: Wonderfully situated hotel on the banks of the river Meuse in Dinant, a really interesting historical town. Easy walk to the Citadel, cable car, and restaurants. Compact ‘school themed’ hotel with a nice selection of rooms, some overlooking the river. Compact breakfast room, bar area and reception. Lift and stairs available. Outside seating area over looking the river. Bar snacks available (pizza, spag bog etc). Comfy bed, hot showers, air con, good amounts of parking with motorcycle parking right outside the door. Some friendly staff, but some not so friendly. Negatives: Unless you smoke beware! The outside seating area is very close to the bar and restaurant and under the bedrooms, so cigarette smoke is everywhere. There is no designated area away from non smokers. I personally found this a major negative.
