The campground is a bit older, but very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, making my stay enjoyable. A wonderful getaway surrounded by nature!

10/10 Exceptional

Amazing location right on the beach and 10 minute walking to Pancake Rocks! Cabin was great with a small fridge and kettle, and had a nice private deck to sit out on. The shared kitchen was really helpful and the camp provided all the cooking supplies we needed!

10/10 Exceptional

Beautiful spot. Right on the beach. Quiet with good camp facilities

10/10 Exceptional

Convenient location to Pancake rocks after we had travelled over Arthurs Pass. Council Caravan Park & our room was clean / tidy with all we required for one night. Lady at the desk was friendly & helpful.

8/10 Very good

This place has only one area access to the wifi. Otherwise it was a nice & beautiful place.

10/10 Exceptional

the location was excellent and so close to the beach which was fantastic i loved the hiking close by and it was great having a food stall in the campground ive never seen that anywhere before, my only dislike if you had to by food at the shop at reception i thought it was quite expensive but it was needed
Benjamin, 5-night trip

2/10 Poor

The cabin we stayed in had a very strong musty odour in the bedroom. We tried to sleep with all the windows open to alleviate the noxious smell. Ended up leaving at 0330 in the morning because the smell was so terrible! The beach was lovely!

Not my best experience

Check in was not good. Some people waited an hour just to check in because the receptionist forgot his phone. No apologies. The carpet in the room has just been cleaned so it was wet and made the room very humid and smelly which wasn't pleasant. The location was good but not a positive experience overall. Especially for the price

2/10 Poor

If I could give zero stars that is what I’d give it. Turned up to retrieve key for a cabin and the reception boy had a didn’t care attitude, then went to cabin to find it absolutely stunk of cat pee , to which I returned the key and complained and was put into another cabin which at least didn’t stink, then during the night it teemed down and there was no water direction and had to walk through a stream of water everywhere you went so couldn’t use the facilities.
Michelle, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The location is sensational. But the campsite is pretty run down. The kitchen is the worst equipped I have ever seen. And also the laundry facilities were nothing I would want to wash or dry my clothes in. Our cabin was ok with a little fridge that was great. But everything was quite damp. All in all, I wouldn't go there again even though the location is beautiful.

Les douches étaient très propres mais le logement et la literie très très moyens. Les photos de la publicité sont assez mensongères

Great little spot. We loved it.

10/10 Exceptional

What a beautiful spot! We were in the riverside cabin, absolutely stunning! Beautiful 360° views from the campsite and just a quick stroll to get to the beach. Kayaks and paddle boards also nearby to rent for the river. Punakaiki is just a special place, sunshine or rain.
Inge, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

Good position, cabin extremely small. No flyscreens and room filled with biting sandflies.
David, 1-night trip

Ottima soluzione per le Pamcake Rocks

Ho trovato la strutturamolto pulita. Il cottage molto piccolo. Il letto non molto comodo. La posizione ottima . Pochi bagni e poche docce rispetto al numero degli utenti.
barbara, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Easy access to beach and river for the little ones, mostly sand which was great. Cabin with two bunks was almost too warm overnight with 2 adults and 2 children though. Friendly, helpful staff.

Floor had sand, linen had hairs, no towels were provided.

Bonus of food cart with whitebait fritters after 3pm. Cabins had tea and coffee but no milk. No supermarket in Punakaiki so bring food if you want to use kitchen in cabin.
Sally, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Cute little cabin, waking distant to beach
Tessa, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Calm and quiet place with beach less than a three minute walk.

Great little spot for exploring the area! Lovely cabin & great communal areas. Would recommend & love to stay again
Kate, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Thankful for the option of a small cabin, as all the motels in the area were fully booked. Also, the coffee/eats/ice cream cart was wonderful. Really enjoyed the easy access to the beach!
Cynthia, 3-night trip

Unique stay, room is basic, pillows aren’t great. Wonderful atmosphere. Towels aren’t provided but front desk was nice and gave us some.
