The staff were friendly. The room looked dated but it had everything in the room I needed. Location is fantastic and I was close or easily able to find items I wanted. The bathroom needed some attention and could have been cleaned a little better. Overall I found my experience was good.

We stayed in Port Hope Inn just for one night since we were visiting Peterborough and Port hope beach. We booked two rooms and they were given us adjoining rooms which was really nice. The receptionist was efficient and friendly. Rooms were fairly big, little out dated but clean and well equipped. Beds were very comfortable with clean linen. Bathroom was very clean and functional. The breakfast was very good, more than what we expected. They were continuously refilling hot and cold breakfast items. The location was very convenient, steps away from Tim’s, Subway, Harvey’s and McDonald’s. Overall we are very happy with our stay.

Will never choose this place again!

We paid the price of a premium hotel for a smelly room with equipment that were worn out. First of all the room smelled like feet! The bed was so uncomfortable and noisy that we decided to sleep on separate beds. At night, a loud music could be heard from one of the units which did not let us sleep and there was no means in the room to call the receptionist. It was the worst experience I had in Port Hope. I won't be back to this place again!

I booked our trip 2 weeks prior. I booked 2 rooms because we are a big family. I booked two of the same rooms upon checking in. They gave me a room that did not have enough beds. And told me they assumed I had cancelled my booking which I never did. The woman at the front desk did absolutely nothing to help us and told us if we weren’t happy that we had to leave without a refund.

Good spot but check hair dryer works!

Some minor renovations going on in the hallway but needed. Free breakfast was good for someone with dairy restriction. The hair dryer wouldn't work and I had to go downstairs with wet hair to get a working one. Reception said they always kept some under their counter, but why don't the staff check if the in-room works??

Nice place if breakfast not important.

This was my second time at the property; however, it had recently changed its name from the Comfort inn brand. The only noticeable change was there was no waffle iron to make waffles, as before! The only negative would be the setup of the breakfast area in general. It was poorly organized such that, for example, the coffee was poured at one side of the area and the cream was in a fridge on the other. Maybe fine if just one person was there but with little kids, it was an accident waiting to happen. Anyway people were milling around not orderly at all. We’ve had much experience at US Military inns so notice some issues that they need to address. Otherwise, staff were friendly, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. Well worth what we paid especially compared to comparable properties in the area.

Staff all need retraining

Second visit in a row same issues. No shampoo. Not enough dishes or essential cookware, had to clean out fridge. No dish soap and dirty dishes in washer. The service was much better than previous visits. Gina is usually who checks us in and is extremely unprofessional in both dress and attitude. Very put out when asked to do anything . This time the manager checked us in. Was very helpful. The cleaning staff we tracked down gave us the shampoo that we needed. We understand the renovations are what they are but staff is complacent and no one is completing their own jobs which is reflected in attitude and uncleanliness.
