Nice room, just off the main plaza. Access to everything downtown , restaurants, mission, shops all with in walking distance. Generally quiet, noisy in the morning due to plaza activity.Small bed, good thing we are a married couple.

Excelente hotel

Es un hotel muy lindo, chico acogedor. El servicio de los empleados excelente, cerca del centro, puedes ir caminando facilmente a todas partes. Muy limpio, camas comodas. Tip. El loby cierra muy temprano, por lo que recomiendo que si necesitaras algo en el dia lo pidas desde temprano. Repruebo como ciudadana Mexicana, que el precio era en dolares, y me castigaron por pagar en pesos, me cobraron 1120 pesos de mas por pagar en pesos. Asi que si traen un precio en dolares, cambien el dinero antes de viajar. Otro tip. No hay un cuato de baño privado en la habitacion, de la regadera sales directo al cuarto, por lo que si piensas compartir habitacion, que sea gente muy de tu confianza, xq no tendras privacidad, yo viaje con mi pareja, asi que no fue un tema para nosotros.

Hotel 1697 is truly a hidden gem located right off the main plaza. This was our 4th time staying here after trying a few others in the area. The rooms are always very clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff are helpful , the breakfast is delicious, served poolside. What a great way to start your day!

Very dissapointing

We spent $250 USD for a room that the bathroom door didn't close, the shower came out with no pressure, it would be scalding hot then get freezing cold instantly. There was no shelf to put any of your belongings on. The people above us sounded like they were moving furniture all night. When we tried to check in we were told the office was open at 12, we came back at 12 they told us 1 pm, the person that checked us in didn't understand english or speak any english, so could answer no questions. It is a cute concept but needs a lot of work or lower the price.

No hot water in shower, although sink had hot water. ?? That was the only negative, plus it is a little loud at night because it is directly on the square and immediately next to the musicians playing well past 10:30. Otherwise very nice.
