At the weekend the bar/restaurant turned into a very loud club, packed with people partying (ie not hotel guests), complete with a bouncer. This meant for us as hotel guests:
We came back from the show we had been to, thinking we would have a drink and sit and chat for a bit before going to our rooms (as you would normally expect to be able to do when the hotel states on its website that there’s a bar), but quickly realising that would not happen . There was absolutely nowhere to sit in the bar/restaurant area but even if there had been seats, the music and the drunken people were so loud that a conversation would have been impossible. When we asked one of the staff if there was anywhere else to sit, she answered that we should take our drinks upstairs (to where the hotel rooms are) and see if we could find seats.
So, we ventured upstairs (carefully avoiding drunk people sitting on the stairs) only to find that there were a few seats (7 or 8?) scattered but they were already taken by other hotel guests in the same situation as us. Also, there were other groups and couples aimlessly walking the hallways trying to find seats. I would have laughed at the whole ridiculous situation if I hadn’t been so annoyed and amazed by how unprofessional this hotel turned out to be.
