Top Tier Econolodge, but missing a front desk rep

It was top of the line for Econolodge. I'd have given it 3 or 4 stars if there was actually someone at the front register. They have a weird kiosk thing, but it wasn't my favorite experience.

The beds are torture racks.

I personally judge a hotel by how comfortable the beds are because really the whole point of being in a hotel is comfort and the only thing these beds were missing were the nails never in my life have I slept on a mattress this hard. Other than that it wasn't terrible but when the beds are so hard you literally cannot sleep then there's really no point in staying at that hotel in my opinion.

For the price, it was a very nice, clean hotel, great breakfast, staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The down side was that the pool was under renovation and the kids were disappointed about that. If it was noted anywhere on the site, I missed it and several other guests did also that also booked thru a site, not directly.

We had a quick overnight for a meeting and I picked this hotel because it was the best deal. It really needs a facelift, but was clean, quiet and we slept great. Totally what I expected for the price.

Good experience staying here but poor customer service at check-in. Check-in waited over 10 mins.at 6 PM evening to find someone to to check us in and get room while stay was already paid for and Expedia itinerary in hand. Person at desk talked very quickly to get rid of us and not explanatory where room was in the motel. We found it on our own.
