Check in staff was rather rude. Cabin had a very bad smell but aired out quickly. Once aired out it was a very nice cabin! Breakfast staff was AWESOME! No signs for the reception building...its to the far LEFT when you check in.

Perfect little cabin!

Highly recommend! Cabin was so cozy for our family of 4 and could have fit a few more. Had everything we needed, very clean, and little kitchen was perfect! Stunning scenery. Wished we’d stayed here another night!

We enjoyed staying at the little cottage. The bathroom was basic, and ok. The rooms didn't allow for larger beds than 90cm, but we still enjoyed our stay there and had a good night's rest. The kitchen is small and has basic amenities.

Cute Cottage - Bring Your Own Coffee

The cottage was cute and comfortable. My family really liked it. Be forewarned that there is no coffee or other basic condiments in the kitchen. If you want coffee, you have to pay for a whole breakfast rather than just a cup.

Nice, quiet place right off the ring road. Beautiful landscape. We were bummed to find the two hot tubs on the property completely empty. Bathroom/shower ok. Shower water did not get very warm. Still would stay here again/recommend it to friends.

Our family stayed here for one night and found the listing to be inaccurate and the cabin in need of repair. The listing states that there are charcoal grills so we picked up charcoal and meat to cook on our way in. Once we got there we were informed that they were no longer offering grills and did not serve dinner on site, only breakfast. There is no oven so we were left to attempt to make dinner on one stovetop burner inside. When asking staff for extra bedding we were given a duvet without the cover and a pillow without the case. The cottage does sleep 7 even though the listing makes this confusing. The bathroom smelled like sewage and the shower head clamp was broken. The picnic table on the patio is also ready to collapse. Overall, nothing terrible but our only below average stay in iceland.

The place was ok, but very expensive. Of course it's expensive because it's isolated and there aren't many options around, but even then we stayed somewhere nicer and cheaper the night before. 3 things were disappointing: -Whilst we could control the heaters in the 2 small bedrooms, and the heat was nice, we found the unit that is meant to heat the kitchen and loft area basically blows colder air than it should. They don't provide the remote and set the temperature at 22, but it felt like it was blowing cold air, not 22 temp air. We would have liked to be able to turn it off at least! Plus it was noisy too. -We had an old knackered sponge. Given how much we paid and stayed for 2 nights, a reasonable sponge would have been appreciated, not one where all the green bits have mostly gone. -The showerhead holder was broken -Pretty much no TV channels, and definitely no netflix or anything like that. So it was a good place to stay, but overpriced, and without the attention to detail.

The Horgsland cottages were a great option for our family of 5. It provided a convenient and affordable basecamp for our adventures exploring the southern section of Vatnajokull National Park. We stayed in cabin 7 which was very clean and comfortable. The cabin interior was in good condition and exceeded expectations, especially after reading other reviews. The pictures very accurately reflected the cabin we stayed in. Lots of windows so it felt bright and open, yet the blackout shades worked very well at night. The kitchen had all the basics which allowed us to cook breakfast and prepare lunches to take with us each day. Wifi worked great for entertainment on personal devices at night. Only 1 channel on the TV and no streaming services available. Communication was great. I had a few last minute questions prior to arriving and Igor responded very quickly. Check-in was super quick. Plenty of parking. It was very quiet. The only negative feedback I have was that the hot tubs were not operational and didn't look like they had been for a while. They were not listed in the amenities but were in many pictures. I'd suggest adding a note to the property description calling this out. If you are looking for luxury, don't stay here. This is for people who are comfortable with no frills accommodations. Overall we were extremely happy with the cabin and would stay here again.

Average stay.

Beware menacing sheep at night! Four times a sheep was banging into the door trying to get in at night. Sheep at windows making noise. Beds not comfortable. TINY shower. Hot-not able to properly regulate temperature. However, it was clean, fit a family of 6 and had a cook top.

Le chalet est correct mais sans plus. la salle de bain est très simple. Petit bac de douche avec rideau, toilettes qui ne sont pas correctement fixés au sol, pas très lumineux. Le couchage est compliqué : lit de 120 + 1 couchage superposé au ras du plafond. Heureusement il y a 3 chambres, du coup nous avons dormi séparé mon mari et moi. Les enfants ont dormi dans le lit de 120 mais pas très confortable surtout pour 2.
