Overrated hotel

This hotel is over rated. Well beyond its best before date. Needs to be updated and maintained. Lights out in bathroom, door to shower cabinet broken. Towel from previous guest stilm in bathroom. Simple breakfast and slow service of hot plate. Everything is old but it is not dirty. Tomas

I cannot do this as despite booking and paying for three rooms for a family wedding nearby in March 2025, I was given 48 hours notice that the hotel could not accommodate two of the rooms. The staff were not at all helpful when I phoned them. Didn’t seem to care that this was causing a lot of anxiety and stress. I was told my booking was on ‘the old’ system as the hotel has changed hands. When the one party member checked in I found the staff not very welcoming at all. No smiling welcome. Very laid back about the whole thing.

From entering the reception until leaving 2 days later everything was excellent, couldn't fault anything. The staff were friendly and the service was as good, the food was high class and i would recommend the fish platter of an evening, great stay.

Fantastic hospitality from the owners and staff Food was delicious,so no surprise the restaurant was very busy The 14:00 check in makes a big difference. Portsoy and the surrounding villages were all very clean with breathtaking scenery. We hope to return sooner than later.

Friendly, great stay.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Being a family run hotel they are very accommodating and helpful. It was clean. The food was good with very nice local produce. Being dog friendly it was a great stay. Portsoy and local area is very nice.

Comfortable, clean and good breakfast

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Station Hotel Portsoy. The bedroom was large, nicely decorated and the beds really comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean and bed linen good quality and spotless. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Central location with pleasant walk down to the harbour.

Good 5 day stay

Good 5 day stay. All staff from reception, breakfast and evening bar were very friendly and helpful. Cooked breakfast was freshly cooked using good quality produce. Room and ensuite were very clean. Bed was comfy. Central heating radiator kept the room nice and warm all night. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice Hotel

Decent sized room at front of hotel. Despite this, never heard any traffic. Clean & tidy. Shower OK. Food was great, plenty of gluten free options, including fish and chips, gf bread and sausages at breakfast. Nice wee town, good coastal walks, would visit again.
