Weekend stay, 2 adults & 1 child

Not having a shower is literally the only negative I can give on this hotel (Room 11) There is a handheld shower head but after a days walking a proper stand up shower is essential (to us). Other than this I have nothing by praise for the place. Good food, good rooms, fantastic staff. Thank You!!

Best care and attention ever!!

right from our arrival the staff were superb. My wife had recently been in hospital and we were not sure how she would be. We need not have worried, the staff, ALL staff could not have done more to look after her. Anything we required was seen to and our room was cleaned when it suited us, to fit in with rest periods that my wife needed.I have traveled worldwide but have never had service and care reaching such heights!! Absolutely wonderfull!!

Good Hotel

The staff at this hotel are absolutely excellent. Room facilities great, but the room was on the first floor and I had asked for accessible room as my husband has severe mobility issues. In effect when he left the room it was a struggle for him to go back during the day until he absolutely had to.

One night stay

Very accommodating. Really friendly staff. Food was lovely. Breakfast was fresh. The room was comfortable.

8/10 Very good

The whole place is spotless and great location, the price was fantastic for a family and the room had nearly eveything you could need ( no milk for a cuppa). Only snag was it was red hot and the staff didn't know how to turn off the bathroom heater which was in full whack and too hot to touch, the window in there is a low level skylight accessible from the bath by a child so not safe to remain open as advised by the lady on the phone, so myself and my children were up and unsettled all night so we left shattered and unrested, breakfast was also good.

Great pub hotel

Wonderful stay. We booked it to break up a trip back home from the Highlands in Scotland. We were welcomed on arrival with a quick check in and then we had a lovely walk round the lake. The food was lovely and the drinks well priced. Wednesday night was quiz night which we really enjoyed. Breakfast in the morning was lovely. We will definitely stay again.

Amazing stay

We loved our stay, the family room we stayed in had large bunk beds, in a separate part of the room giving our teenage girls some privacy, the beds were also very comfortable. Cannot fault the service, amazing place.

6/10 Good

The hotel is well situated next to the river, the rooms are clean and practical, the bathroom excellent. The service from the staff is second to non let down by the quality of food which seemed to be aimed at the volume rather than the quality.

Beautiful, near perfect, hotel.

The hotel is lovely and the rooms are well appointed and beautifully clean. The tea tray was excellent. Food in the restaurant is amazing. The two reasons that it wasn't 5* is because the bathroom blind was missing and there was no cover in the bathroom. My teenage daughters found this uncomfortable. In the restaurant the gentleman who greeted us was rather intense. He was clinical in his approach. It felt uncomfortable. I will undoubtedly return.

The pub was very pleasant, the room that we had was very comfortable if small. With an excellent bed and all the required facilities. The pubs staff where delightful and incredibly accommodating. We arrived 2 minutes before the end of evening food service and they where very happy to accept our order. Food in the pub was very pleasant, with a hearty breakfast included in the rooms price.

Staying near Ullswater, North Lakes

Really friendly welcome when we checked in. We used as a base to walk from with our dog. The whole team couldn't not have done more for us. A nice, busy traditional pub, the bedroom room was very clean and modern and the food, including breakfast was excellent. Loads on Gluten Free options as well. We will be back.

Great hotel shame about the pub set up and food

Great place to stay breakfast was nice, but food was awful on our first night we sent mine back i then got nachos they were average, came in for drinks the next day it wasnt very welcoming as we just wanted drinks, you are no longer allowed at the bar it takes the atmosphere away from being in a pub preffered it before the referb let a pub be a pub i could understand if it was a posh restaurant but its not its average pub grub....
