the barn is a great stay near vik. we had a private room bathroom and we loved it. we still used the kitchen, which is also well equipped and big enough for everyone. there is a bar as well which has an happy hour and pretty reasonable prices for food regarding iceland :))

While this Hostel facility was newer, beautifully designed and impeccable, sharing a room with 4 beds with other guests just wasn't for us. Staff was awesome. We were supposed to stay 2 nights, but opted for a regular room for night 2. If you don't mind the hostel experience, then you're good to go!

The views of the fields leading to the ocean are unmatched. It is quiet and dark, if you have a private room. I would pay the extra money for the quiet and relaxed location. We stayed at another hotel in town on the way back and it was not as restful(intense bright lights all night, noise in the morning and we didn’t get the bed we had requested). The town hotels had breakfast included but I would spend my money on the barn and still make my own breakfast in the communal kitchen or grab a few pastries at the front desk.

Our March stay was nice. The double room with shared bathroom was comfortable. It was quiet during the quiet hours. The flavoured water at the front was a nice touch. Check in was easy. Plenty of parking available. The downstairs lounge had comfy seats to lounge and hang out in. More guests should use the bath mats provided to keep the shower floors dry. The kitchen area and bathrooms are cleaned daily by staff.

Great location to explore Vik and its gorgeous surroundings. A premium hostel, very clean with friendly staff. The kitchen, lobby, and bar are also very spacious and great to meet other travellers. Only minus was the out of order dishwasher in the kitchen. Otherwise, a great accomodation even for travellers looking to have their own private bedroom like us.

It is a great place to visit Vík y Myrdal and its landscape. I think there could be a little bit more done in terms of entertainment but besides that I think all was good. Great kitchen with all things you need. They could replace some parts of the shower one of them didnt look too nice, but it wasn't that bad either. I am not a fan of shared bathrooms normally but this was perfectly fine.

Very cosy and nice but rooms were too small for 8 people (we didn’t even have space for the luggages) and it got really hot as way too many people in the room Kitchen was nice but not big enough for all the guests Bathrooms iften without paper and not enough Also while booking it wasn’t clear how many people would fit in the room
