Small, basic but ok. Comfy bed, clean linen and towels. The door onto the verandah was a bonus. Took me back to last century and visits to country towns.

What a terribley unsafe place to stay at. Do not stay here. Drive further if you have to to avoid this place, at all costs. However the food was really good, so stop by all means but after the meal, drive on.

The old style pub character … veranda and old bathrooms

Expensive to eat and drink there.

I think the venue operator should state in their accommodation ads that they have live music which may disrupt your sleep, but apart from that the accommodation was adequate for my needs. Thank you

Great Value, Friendly Staff and Great Facilities

5 Stars all round, please understand you do need to rate based on what you pay. This was under $100 per night, at this rate all I expect is a room with a bed. So when you get TV, Bar Fridge, shared kitchen facilities, a downstairs restaurant and bar, free parking and the most helpful and friendly staff in the central west, the Castlereagh Hotel is an absolute banger. 110% Recomend

6/10 Good

An old country pub offering cheap no frills accommodation on a road trip. Perfect for what I was after, a lace to crash for the night prior to heading off early the next morning, staff friendly, facilities ok.

Carpet was not clean. Dining downstairs was great!
Fiona, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was so small and depressing. The bathroom was gross. I feel sorry fir the lovely staff. Can a pub ruin a roadt? The answer is yes. The chef must not like vegetables, they were cold and watery. Such a shame.
Stephanie, 1-night trip

Standard average pub rooms, bed was comfy, communal bathrooms were in terrible condition

dump

BISTRO AND BAR: excellent. ACCOMMODATION: A dilapidated dump. Every inch needs work to restore this place to whatever glory it might have had 60 years ago. Not good enough and never again.
Christopher, 2-night trip

4/10 Fair

Very noisy accommodation the room and ensuite were very small and badly in need of a renovation. We always prefer to stay in iconic pubs (with ensuites) and this is the only time we have been very disappointed with our choice.
Erris, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

What a run down room. Like a prison cell. The shower drained down a make shift drainage channel which wasn’t sealed properly so wet the whole bathroom floor which I slipped over on. No bath mat provided. The blanket looked dirty and the bed had hair in it. The noise from the cooler outside my window kept me awake and when I finally got to sleep a big truck came in around 3am beeping and noisy and woke me up again . Couldn’t close the bathroom louvres as they are broken so street noise was a lot too. Mould on the wall and all in all just a grimy feel. Bar tender said he’d be with me but then got chatting to someone who walked in after me, then served several beers before he could bother to check me in. Not worth the $100, I should have slept in my car.
Rebecca, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Great pub meal. There was broken cupboard and wheels on bed were broken. Great compliments such as ceral, biscuits tea and coffee.
Steph, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Note all my comments are in the context of single motorcyclist staying for one night only. I like staying in pubs they have character. This one, in particular, has plenty. I appreciated the cheerful welcome on arrival and the offer of a cold beer. My room had all the facilities of a modern hotel. Don't get me wrong all the gear in the rooms is old and worn but it was clean and it all functioned well. The bistro had good meals at reasonable prices. Secure parking for my bike and at a cheap tariff. Wi-fi signal is weak so don't rely on it. Free continental breakfast was appreciated. Overall excellent value for the money and would stop there again.
