If you want to stretch your legs and breathe in some fresh mountain air, head out to Mt. Princeton for a bird's-eye view of Nathrop. Why not take a stroll along the riverfront and watch the sunset while you're here?
Nathrop, well-known for its hot springs and mountains, features attractions such as Browns Canyon National Monument and Arkansas River. Visitors highlight this relaxing city's riverfront while sights include Mt. Princeton and San Isabel National Forest.
Very small town with not much to do. Although, you can drive 15 mins north to Buena Vista or about 20 mins south to get to Salida. Both towns are very cute with great food options.

Excellent
Didn't really stay near Nathop proper since the hot springs resort is about 4 miles away. The area around the hot springs were scenic and peaceful.

Excellent
Great mountain getaway, closest towns are Salida and Buena Vista but there is a little general store on the property.

Scenery is beautiful. Didn't seem to have much there other than the resort.
"The Mt Princeton resort overnight stay exceeded our expectations. We received very warm welcome, upgraded suite, two day passes to all pools plus access to the Club house (adults only). Water was crystal clear and perfect temperature in all pools. "
"What a great motel! I don't know how old the original motel was, but at this point in it's history I know it is at it's absolute best!
Rooms are spacious and beautifully renovated. All you need for a pleasant stay.
Part of the amenities are private use of a sauna and very nice salt water hot tub jetteted spa! The morning breakfast was good too. Very happy to discover this motel."
"The balcony view was beautiful. It's open, making it easy to connect with other guests. The space is quiet, clean, and faces the mountains at the back of the property. We especially enjoyed watching the many hummingbirds at the active feeders.
One downside is that there's no way to control the temperature in the room. One of us slept well, while the other woke up feeling hot. If you prefer a cooler sleeping environment, consider bringing a portable fan—and don’t forget an extension cord.
Overall, we would definitely stay here again."
