Shifnal is my hometown. Although it has changed significantly since my childhood a lot remains the same. Parking has become a premium as residents of Telford use it for free parking while they commute to work, much to the disgust of the residents.

Close to Ironbridge and many places to visit. Cosford RAF Museum. Opportunity to learn about past history of the area.

"This fantastic hotel is a real gem, situated in the heart of lovely Shrewsbury and would make a great base for explorers enjoying all the local amenities. The Lion Hotel reflects the environment; quirky, an architectural gem filled with ancient and beautiful furniture pieces, an historic idiosyncrasy still resplendent in faded charm. Not for the fussy or fastidious traveller. This would be for Hogwarts lovers and those seeking individuality. Fabulous comfortable half-poster bed and luxurious bathroom with masses of piping hot water. No breakfast available, but super delicatessens within a minute's walk gets you up and out too! Very reasonable parking fee and dogs welcome. We will come back as often as we are able."
"Lovely location, great grounds and decent pool. The room was a really good size but similar to other comments, the decor is tired, the beds were uncomfortable and old.
Staff were all friendly and helpful when needed and For the money paid I was happy enough, but if you are looking for anything plush, modern or comfortable you may need to look elsewhere."
