Caernarfon is well-known for its castle and mountains, featuring attractions such as Redline Indoor Karting and Traeth Llanddwyn. This historical city has something for everyone including bars as well as sights like National Slate Museum and Rhyd Ddu Path. All are within a small-town setting.
Try to get in at the Black Buoy Inn and Osteria, great restaurants for meals, Lizzys for a afternoon snack. Castle has great views and reasonable prices (especially with discounts). Only 18 mins from Llanberis so Caernarfon a great base for Snowdon.

Small town with a lovely Castle and surrounded area. Only a few pubs in the area and not much in the way of evening entertainment, even at weekends. A good base for exploring North Wales.

So many bars, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Town square has much to offer. Boat trips from the harbour. Friendly vibe. And of course there is the castle!

A peaceful little corner of Wales, we had a great time even if we didn't get to see Snowdon. All of the stuff we saw on our road trip from Llanberis was great, trips to Cardigan, Conwy, even Anglesey :)

Caernarfon and Llanberis are fantastic places to visit and with a few tweeks the Royal Victoria hotel could be much better.
"Secluded and serene, this beautiful property was the perfect choice for our trip. Staff was helpful and friendly, breakfast was outstanding, and grounds are just gorgeous. I highly recommend!"
"Amazing location, housekeeper really nice! We had room upstairs looking at the mountains and it was amazing. We loved our stay. Recommend Beddgelert any time. "
"We spent a delightful six nights at Victoria House. The owner, Jan, was a gracious and very helpful host. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. No breakfast was served, but there are many excellent breakfast spots within a five minute walk. And the room came with ground coffee and a French press coffee maker, plus excellent snacks. The location within the old city walls and adjacent to the sea is perfect. "
"Booked this hotel for a weekend due to location to Watkin Path. Staff so kind & helpful, Rooms clean & tidy with ensuite bathrooms including baths in two out of 3 rooms booked. Use of lift to rooms. Breakfast selection plentiful and hot, evening meals superb & well priced. Hotel also offers a cool room to store food & drinks for your climb, as well as offering a snack pack to buy for your day out. The Goat Hotel is based in Beddgelert & walking distance to amenities. We will definitely be booking for a return visit. "
