The Outer Banks are beautiful. There's something for everyone. We especially liked the opportunities for fresh seafood at local restaurants. We also loved just enjoying the ocean and dunes. For those that like activities, there's a lot to do, too.

Excellent
Good central area to stay for our first Outer Banks visit as we went from there to Cape Hatteras, Corolla and Manteo plus many other towns and sites in between.

Love the walk ability to shopping, restaurants and the fact that our hotel was right on the beach was great. KDH is quiet and a great place for a family vacation.

Live KDH and probably take 10-12 trips here each year, all seasons, sometimes a week but most often weekends. Not my open for late dinners, limited delivery options. Sadly seems to be declining but I have been coming for 40 years so i keep returning

We found this location to be a good "central" location for visiting all of the Outer Banks. We could get to the northernmost area of Corolla within an hour; and we could get to the southernmost area of Frisco in just over an hour.

We love staying in this area. It's quiet and there are lots of little shops and things to visit. Was not thrilled with this hotel and will likely never stay here again.

I know it wasn't peak season but it seemed like everything closed really early. And it was a little hard to find what to do in the area

Very cute area with lots to do just minutes away. Easy access to other beaches, dunes, NC aquarium, shopping and dinning.
"It was great!! Would def come stay here again. The lady who checked me in was super nice. Our room was huge and so clean. We loved the beach access. Loved this stay!!"
"Everything was excellent except maybe the pool could be cleaned better. There was white foaming stuff floating on top of the water in the outdoor pool. Inside pool was fine."
"This was our first time staying at John Yancey and it didn’t disappoint us at all! The staff were amazing and helpful. The pool was cleaned every morning before opening so it was always refreshing. The hotel is extremely clean I didn’t see one bug during our visit. It’s very easy to get to the beach with your things and little ones. "
